For the last several years of my employment at Illinois Masonic, Dr. Ken Simpson's office was in the same suite that I worked in. It was a joy to see him walk in. He was not arrogant but the reverse, -- a human being. He was tolerant and good to whoever used the suite, whether they were doctors of various levels, other personnel, and often my young family members. Rest in peace, friend.

I'm so sorry to hear this sad news. Kenny was such a nice man and was absolutely treasured by my grandfather, another one of "The Boys". Diane - we are sending much love your way and thinking of Kenny.

The world has lost a real mensch-- Ken was an incredible, stand-up guy. He was initially my older colleague (I first knew him in his second iteration as a physician-- as an extremely helpful clinical ethicist), and subsequently he became a wonderful friend. Anyone who knew him would absolutely articulate the same description of him-- sweet, kind, bright, inquisitive, non judgemental, supportive, warm... ad infinitum. May his memory be a blessing. It was always such a pleasure to be with Ken and Diane, at the Art Institute, a Seder or any family gathering. They always made me feel at home. Father Bill O´Shea
