Kevin Ahlstrom Obituary

Kevin Ahlstrom, 48, of Superior, Wisc., died April 9, 2007 at St. Mary's Medical Center. Kevin was a 1977 graduate of Ashland High School in Ashland, Wisc., and spent two years at UW-Superior. He has been a resident of Superior for a number of years. He had worked for WDIO in Duluth, for Muscular Dystrophy and was a lab technician for Duluth Camera Exchange. His hobbies included photography, gourmet cooking, motorcycle riding and playing the guitar. His Christian faith was an important part of his life. He was preceded in death by his sister, Jody Fisher on May 24, 2006. Surviving are his parents, Arthur and Marion Ahlstrom of Ashland, Wisc.; special adopted sisters, Therese Lachecki and Deb Topley of Ashland, Wisc., aunts, uncles, cousins; many friends in the Twin Ports area and his special Friday night group. MEMORIAL SERVICE:11 a.m. Saturday, April 21, 2007 in Salem Baptist Church in Ashland, Wisc., with visitation two hours prior to the service. Inurnment at Mt. Hope Cemetery in Ashland. Arrangements are with the Frost Home for Funerals in Ashland, Wisc.

I worked with Kevin at WDIO, and I will always remember the many times he showed me "the ropes" of working as a part of the production crew (otherwise known as "prod units"). Kevin and I were teammates once for a Time/Speed Rally outside of Superior, and although we came in next to last, we had a blast. I surely will always have fond memories of our days as workmates and as friends.

Kevin's kind disposition, gentle manner, and from-the-heart concern for others made him a great person to work with during my time at WDIO during the 80's. My condolences to his family.

To Kevin's family and friends,
Kevin was a dear friend always full of encouraging words and a prayer warrior. I loved to sing with him. His deep faith was lived out everyday of his life.
I will miss having coffee with him!
