Kevin,
Thanks for saving my life in Iraq and being a friend. You shared the Barqs and I shard the pecan pies. Before Iraq we were on two totally different paths. I was young trying to find my way and you were the true professional. I miss our conversations and your mentorship. I’m still some day going to read the “the art of war.” I think about you often and how happy you were to be a father. This world needed more people like you. Forever Grateful. Until Valhalla

Well my friend. It appears I am sitting here thinking of you again. Looking at old pictures and remembering the past. Everytime I pass the sushi joint on Esplanade I think of those great conversations we had there. Oh how could I ever forget the inspiring mailings I used to get from you, :-))! I miss you brother.

Dearest Friends,
I am truly so sorry about Kevin, he was so handsome, I just reviewed the photos of him, it seems like yesterday that him and Gerald were into something. I wish I knew what to say to you all that hasn't all ready been said, but I really feel a personal loss, too. What a good son, dad, brother, friend, etc. Please know that I am sorry and wish there was something that I could do for all of you. God Bless you and I love you. Lucille

Kevin this type of thing is hard for me to do,so it takes me awhile just to do it.Alot of my close friends have passed lately, the ones i've known most of my life.I always think back on our days since McDonalds, lots of good memories ones that can never be replaced. The fishing trips, our VW expeditions, and everything else we did. Stories that seemed unbelievable to some, but just another good time for us, some that others will never hear. I've missed our friendship and will continue to do so,sharing some of the memories with your parents feels so good, like the old days. well good bye good friend, always in my thoughts!!

Uncle Charlie and Aunt Sylvia,
I just heard the sad news. I am so sorry for your loss. I have a such fond memory of Kevin when we went out touring around on your boat when we came to town those many years ago. Kevin was still a teenager, but he was so nice to a couple of cousins from Texas.
Hugs and Kisses and Blessings and lots of Prayers from us,

Dawn and Family:
I was so sorry to hear of Kevin's passing away. Always remember the good times and pray for strength in this time of sorrow. Take comfort in the Bible's promise that we will see our lost loved ones again by means of the resurrection: Acts 24:15. Be strong and take care.

Kevin had many gifts and qualities that made him a man that many looked up to and that many followed. He was a true leader. I thank God every day that I was able to have Kevin as a friend and co-worker. Everything he did was with all his heart and he never stopped until he reached his goals. There's not many people you'll meet in life like Kevin Bassett. My heart and prayers go to Dawn, Hannah, and Kevin's family.

God Saw You...
by Adam Males
God saw you getting tired,
When a cure was not to be.
So He wrapped his arms around you,
and whispered, "Come to me".
You didn't deserve what you went through,
So He gave you rest.
God's garden must be beautiful,
He only takes the best
And when I saw you sleeping,
So peaceful and free from pain
I could not wish you back
To suffer that again.

I still can not believe that I am writing in memory of Kevin. My heart goes out to Dawn and Hannah and the rest of his family. We worked together at Mobile One and without batting an eye he was there to help me with any issues, even after he left working for Mobile One. That's just the type of person he was. Kevin was a solid guy. He will be missed by many.

Words cannot express how deeply we will feel the loss of our good friend and neighbor. Kevin was always willing to help with anything and everything, because he was such a giving person. It is too hard to believe that he won't be with us again at a Red Dog meeting. Our hearts go out to Dawn and Hannah and all of Kevin's family and friends, as I'm sure there are many because Kevin was so loved. Kevin made many personal sacrifices because of his strong sense of duty, and I will always respect him for that. His parents should be so proud that they raised such a fine young man. He is one of the sweetest, hardest working, devoted, and genuinely kind people I've had the priviledge to know. He will not be forgotten -- ever.
