Kevin Daniel Boylan

On June 19th, 2024, Kevin Daniel Boylan passed away after a short illness. He was 80 years old and a beloved father, grandfather, husband, brother, uncle, cousin, and friend. He died peacefully, surrounded by loved ones.

Kevin was born December 19, 1943, to Pete and Molly Boylan of Manhattan, NY, and was raised in the Inwood section of Upper Manhattan. He was the second-born, the eldest son of ten children, and the patriarch of a large, devoted family.

"The Kev," as we lovingly referred to him, told stories of growing up in Inwood: playing stickball in the street, jumping off the C rock to swim in the Spuyten Duyvil Canal, and visiting the library with Grandma Kelly. He went on to marry, have children, and retire from a career on Wall St.

He retired to Murrells Inlet, SC, with his wife Delphi and several of his cherished siblings, where they continued to share memories and demonstrate love for their big brother as they cared for him in his final days.

Cherished father to Jennifer, Stephen (Kimberly Brooks), and Corey. Devoted grandfather to Matthew, Seamus, Hannah, and Scarlett. His sage advice, wisdom, intelligence, sensitivity, hearty laughs, and love for reggae will forever resonate with them.

Kevin is survived by his siblings Geraldine (William Tone), Katherine (Daniel Blaner), Peter (Mary Boylan), Patrick (Jeannie Boylan), and Barbara (William Ansell.) He is predeceased by his sisters, Denise Halsey, Mary Harnett, Margaret Howard, Carolyn Christensen, and his wife, Delphine Boylan.

He was a beloved uncle to numerous nieces and nephews and a friend to many.

While we mourn his passing, we also celebrate the rich tapestry of memories he leaves behind.

To "The Kev," you have left an indelible imprint on our hearts, and your legacy will continue to shine brightly through each of us. Until we meet again, may you find eternal peace in the embrace of those who went before you.

A celebration of life will take place on October 12, 2024, at the American Legion Post 178 in Murrells Inlet, SC. Let's lift a glass and tell tales of the Pink Panther.
