Kevin Dyson Obituary

Published by Legacy Remembers from Jan. 6 to Jan. 7, 2021.
Kevin Darnell Dyson of Park Hall MD died on January 1, 2021. He was born on August 19, 1967 to Thelma L. Dyson and the late Paul A. Fenwick of Park Hall, Maryland. Kevin graduated from Great Mills High School in Great Mills, Maryland in 1986.

He received his trade as an electrician at St. Mary's County Technical Center in Leonardtown, Maryland.

Kevin married Penney Ballard on September 11, 1992.

He worked in electrical and electronic wiring as well as home improvement with his Uncle Carlton and completed numerous jobs in the DMV areas. He was presently employed with Rosendin Electric, Local 26, in Sterling, Virginia.

Kevin enjoyed numerous hobbies in and outdoors. Cooking stuffed ham, pig's feet and homemade potato salad were his specialties. Playing chess was another one of his joys. He would spend much time fishing, crabbing, and hunting.

Kevin was a kind, jovial, and likable person. He had a good heart. His mischievous smile and sense of humor intrigued the hearts of many.

Here are some comments from family:

Aleayah - "No matter what when I needed you, you were one call away and always there." (daughter)

Kevin, Jr. - "You were not just my father, but my best friend." "

Penney - "Kevin was fearless, courageous and a good hearted man. My high-school sweetheart and the father of our four amazing children of whom we are proud of."

Danielle - "My Dad was a Great Man. He loved his family so much and always put us first. He taught me that family comes first and we stick together. I will always live by that. Love you Daddy." (daughter)

Jasmine - "You have instilled in us children strength with which we can overcome any obstacle life puts in our way." (daughter)

Sabrina - "I am thankful for us and our time." (daughter)

Brandon - "You've always been by my side and will continue to be in my heart." (brother)

Rhonda - "We have always been there for one another. I can't begin to imagine you not being here by our side. I will always love you and look forward to seeing you again in the resurrection." (sister)

Antonio - "I will miss you Uncle Kevin. I hate that we didn't have more time together." (nephew)

Ellis - "Kevin was a wonderful nephew but also "my little brother." He loved his family and enjoyed laughing and making everyone happy. I love him and look forward to seeing and laughing with him again after the resurrection." (Acts 24:15) (uncle)

Jerry - "He was always eager to help everyone, especially his family. Just two weeks ago, he happily installed a camera system in my home." (uncle)

Carlton - "He was always a hard worker and proud of his work." (uncle)

Gail - "I will never forget his smile." (cousin)

Octavia - "He was just in Food Lion a while back and told me all of the home improvement projects he was doing to his mother's house." (cousin)

Candy - "I will miss our daily calls, joking and laughing on the phone." (cousin)

Kevin is survived by his mother, Thelma Robinson; five children, Danielle Ballard of Lexington Park, MD, Sabrina Lopez of Atlanta, GA, Jasmine Dyson of California, MD, Kevin Dyson, Jr. of Lexington Park, MD, and Aleayah Dyson of Lexington Park, MD. He will be missed by his seven grandchildren: Tristan, Elijah, Harmony, Olivia, Mathew, Kingsley, Carter. Kevin leaves behind his sister Rhonda Chase (Wydell) of Waldorf, MD and his brother Brandon Robinson (LaToya) of Lusby, MD. Also included are his nephews and nieces: Antonio, Brandon, Shawn, Alannah, and Ryann. Also left to cherish him are a host of aunts, uncles, cousins, and dear friends.

Kevin, like many, seeing the world deteriorate to its present state, recently decided to accept a personal Bible study to find the answers to his questions.

Kevin will be dearly missed by family, friends and those who sincerely had his best interest at heart! May Jehovah keep him in his memory. (John 5:28, 29)

On Saturday, January 9, 2021, visitation will begin at 9 am until time of service at 11 am at Briscoe-Tonic Funeral Home, 38576 Brett Way, Mechanicsville, MD. Interment to follow at Charles Memorial Gardens, Leonardtown, MD.

When I think of Kevin, it always brings a smile to my face. We didn't see each other often, but whenever we did, we'd pick up where we left off, as if no time had passed. He will be forever missed.

KD as we often called him had courage of a lion and a heart of gold. Kevin had a work ethic that is incomparable and energy that was endless. Kevin was a man of faith and family. I witnessed so much that he would do for his family and love ones. Kevin had faith in his Maker. I remember him and I riding to Virginia one weekend to attend a Jehovah's Witness Convention. It was an awesome time together celebrating God and fellowshipping with others, I thank him for that. If you was a friend of Kevin's or if he knew you he'd have your back. Kevin was never afraid to test his limits, his bravery and mettle will not be forgotten. He loved his children so much. REST EASY MY FRIEND REST EASY UNTIL WE MEET AGAIN ON THE OTHER SIDE. It's hard to not cry but it is expected when you love someone. Love you brother! IT'S SO HARD TO SAY GOOD BYE TO YESTERDAY

Honestly, I am at a loss for words, however I will do my best here. To the Dyson Family, you have my deepest condolences.

Kevin, we (Dewitt, Rodney, Deangelo and Bobby) had some GOOD TIMES!!! On and outside of Park Hall Road, we were into EVERYTHING!! Your sister, Rhonda definitely knows, that better than anyone.

From a very young age, we all grew up together, so we shared sooo many memories. Those memories are what I will reflect upon, now that you are gone. You will be missed.

Kevin, everyone knows that when seeing you, you always had smile on your face. And when talking with you, you were constantly laughing during the conversation. That was Kevin.

We last spoke a little over a week ago. We discussed meeting up this past Tuesday, unfortunately that did not happen. Life. During the conversation we also spoke about your mom (Thelma). You told me that you had recently completed several projects around the home for her. Although you were trying to fight it, you were also telling how Thelma was holding you accountable. That is what a GREAT MOTHER does. No matter what your age is, she holds you accountable for your actions and maintains expectations of you. Trust me, I know this from my own experience with my mom (Delores Bailey).

Kevin you would often stop my to check on my mother. My mother would tell me, "Troy, your crazy cousin Kevin Dyson was here and offered to take my trash to the dump." My sister (Desiree) would see you and later call me to tell me that she saw you and of course you were constantly laughing during the conversation.

Kevin, no doubt that I will miss you here on earth. However, my faith, belief and trust in God, gives me comfort to know that we will meet again.

Cousin, I love you and miss you. Rest in peace, until we meet again....Troy Bailey
