MANGUM Kevin E Mangum a loving father, husband, son, brother, friend and excellent attorney, passed away October 31, 2016 to be with our heavenly father. He was born April 23, 1966 in Jacksonville, Florida and lived a joyous life full of excitement with family, friends and colleagues. Kevin was married to Jamie Yasko-Mangum and they celebrate 19 years together just shy of 20 years. They have two sons Stone Mangum and Spencer Mangum who attend Oviedo High School. His parents are John William Mangum and Julia Simon Mangum of Ponte Vedra Beach Florida, and his sister is Susan Mangum Cuthbertson married to brother in law Chuck Cuthbertson who have kids Charlie and Julia Cuthbertson. Kevin was a partner at Mateer Harbert in downtown Orlando specializing in bankruptcy and tax issues. He practiced law for 25 years having many of his cases reported, being asked to speak about various topics in bankruptcy, tax and real estate at bar and association events and conferences. Kevin was tapped by Federal Judges to be a mediator on several federal cases. He also gave of his time and expertise to pro bono cases and Guardian Ad Litem cases. When not practicing law he loved spending time with his wife and sons. He coached his son's (Spencer) baseball team and played golf with his son Stone. He thoroughly enjoyed traveling with his family, going to the beach, watching football (FSU), and baseball. Kevin will be greatly missed by his family, friends and colleagues. A Celebration of Life Service will be held November 3 at The First United Methodist Church of Oviedo (his family's church) at 263 King Street, Oviedo Florida 32765. I did not get the opportunity to meet Kevin, I was just referred to him by a dear friend who did know him and instead of his number coming up this is what I found. I just wanted to say that he made an impact so great that it reached someone in Clermont. Sending prayers to all of his friends and family for comfort and peace. Very sorry for your loss!

We had a special bond at TPHS and FSU plus we had the very unique privilege to share the same first and middle name. Many wonderful memories and thoughts will be with me always. The world, and our little work community, has lost an original way too soon. There will never be another like our friend, Kevin Mangum. Like others have said, when getting a call or text and seeing it was Kevin you couldn't help but smile because you knew you were in for a good conversation, no matter what. Knowing that it will never happen again is devastating and surreal.

Kevin was one of a kind and I am grateful that I am able to call him a friend. He was a great advocate for his clients and always willing to give a helping hand to those in need. I thought I was the only person pestering Kevin every day with legal matters. Silly me. Kevin was a giant of a mentor not just to me but to many of us in the legal world. And he was also a giant of a man and one of my best friends. It never mattered where he was or what he was doing. Kevin ALWAYS picked up the phone whether while negotiating deals for his son, at the ball park, and even the day after his back surgery.

Kevin, like many others, I too stare at the phone for the text that will never come. I have to stop myself from calling you now.

Thankfully my last memory of you is your laugh. I could always crack you up. I think you must have started laughing when you saw me calling in. You were all warmed up and chuckling when you said "hello".

I love you and miss you as the consummate professional, colleague and dear friend.

Jamie, Stone and Spencer, we are praying for you. Kevin was so proud of all of you. You were his world. I cannot imagine your loss.
