Kimberly Stanley Obituary

Published by Legacy Remembers on Jul. 25, 2023.
In Loving Memory of Kimberly Ann Stanley: March 1, 1959 - July 23, 2023

With heavy hearts and profound sadness, we announce the passing of Kimberly Ann Stanley (n?e Whitcomb). Kim leaves behind her husband Steve; children Amy, Brett, and Taylor; grandchildren Everly, Hayden, Ashwin, Priya, Kiran, and Jack; brother Trent (Lisa) Whitcomb, sister Kelly (Phil) Runck and many nieces, a nephew, brother-in-law, and sisters-in-laws, and friends. She is preceded in death by her parents, Roger and Carol, and son, Jeremie.

Kim was born in Fargo, North Dakota at the same hospital six months before her loving husband of more than 35 years and moved to Cottage Grove, Minnesota when she was a young girl. In 1998 she moved to Woodbury, Minnesota and spent 25 years there with her husband and family.

Kim was a strong woman who embraced many roles in her life. She was a loving wife, a devoted mother, a doting grandmother, a caring sister, a cherished sister-in-law, and a beloved aunt. Her fun-loving spirit and love for her family were evident in every aspect of her life.

For over 35 years, Kim dedicated herself to the Kraus-Anderson (KA) company, where she made many friends and enjoyed her job.

An avid sports enthusiast, her heart belonged to the Minnesota Vikings and all Minnesota sports activities. She cheered passionately for her favorite teams, and her excitement was infectious, bringing joy to those around her during game days.

Kim had a radiant smile that could brighten even the darkest of days. Her welcoming aura led to countless conversations with strangers and friends alike as she reveled in learning about their life's journey.

She cherished her friendships dearly and enjoyed spending time socializing, sharing good music, and celebrating life.

She was married to the love of her life and was blessed to travel to many US States including Hawaii, the Bahamas, a cruise, and other places with him and their children. Although her husband was a Packers fan, she was able to look past this important flaw.

In accordance with her wishes, Kim will be cremated. A celebration of her life will take place next summer in 2024 at Square Lake, where family and friends will gather to honor her memory. This fun family setting was one of her favorite places, and it will be a fitting location to remember the joy and love she brought into our lives.

In lieu of flowers, please send any donations to the Lupus Foundation of America.

Steve..My husband who passed away, July 10th. We ran into you both outside of Lakewood Tavern, to find out Kim was battling cancer, 4 days later found out Terry had stage 4 aggressive lung cancer. Kim's dad was elementary school principal at Terry elementary school. She was a fun, happy go lucky person, loved her family. Ann Sloan

Dear Steve and Family,
My heart hurts of reading this sad news about Kim. My sincere condolences to all of you.
I so enjoyed being Kim´s friend. We had many laughs together that I can´t even count. The stories we made with each other will be my favorite memories of her. I will dearly miss our friendship. As you will too.
God bless your family at this time. And God Bless Kim.
I will miss my friend forever.
Katie Johnson.

Kim taught me how to work hard and play hard, she had an infectious smile and hardy laugh. We had so many adventures, concerts and sporting events. I'm so glad you insisted on being at my wedding nuptials at the courthouse in 2001 - even though no one was invited. Ha. Who loves ya? ME! Hope you're showing them how to party like a rock star in heaven!

Kim was always positive (even when it came to the Vikings), and was always ready with a laugh and a smile. Those of us who worked with Kim for many years are the lucky ones, Kim knew how to work hard and still make it fun. Kim, you were one of a kind, the best kind.

Infectious smile for sure. Heaven received another angel. Kimmy you were always the life of the party, we will never forget that smile. You will be missed dearly. Maybe being in heaven you might get a chance to put in a good word for our Vikings. R.I.P. my dear.
