Kristina Bach Obituary

Published by Legacy Remembers on Aug. 24, 2025.
Cincinnati - Mary Kristina Bach (Backscheider), age 77, passed away on August 17, 2025, in Cincinnati, Ohio.

Born on August 5, 1948, in Cincinnati, Kristina spent her early years in the Roselawn neighborhood before her family moved to Finneytown. She attended St. Vivian's School and graduated from Ursuline Academy. Her academic journey led her across the country to the University of California - Berkeley, where she earned a degree in Art Therapy.

Kristina returned to her hometown and became a well-known portrait artist in the Cincinnati area. Her work captured the essence of children and families with warmth and sensitivity, and many of her portraits continue to grace living room mantels throughout Southwest Ohio. Her artistic legacy is one of beauty and emotional depth, reflecting her deep understanding of human connection.

She is survived by her son, Julian Bach, who now resides in Cambodia; two brothers, Allen Backscheider and Dean Backscheider; and many friends who cherished her vibrant spirit. She was preceded in death by her parents, Albert and Helen Backscheider of Finneytown, and her sister Adele Robert Backscheider of Paris, France.

A private celebration of life will be held at a later date.

May Kristina's memory bring comfort to those who knew her and inspiration to all who encounter the art she leaves behind.
