Kurt Dangel Obituary
1965-2024
Kurt Joseph Dangel, of Oak Lawn, Illinois, passed away on April 6, 2024.
Born in Chicago to Karl and Angela Dangel on July 7, 1965, Kurt grew up in Evergreen Park, attending Holy Redeemer Church and graduating from Evergreen Park Community High School.
Kurt was deeply beloved and he will be missed by many. He was known for his love for God, quick wit, true heart, spirit of adventure, and his lifelong love of cats, music and vintage collectibles.
Kurt is survived by his sister, Lynn Dangel Costello; his brother Karl W. Dangel; sister-in-law, Lorraine E. Dangel; and his nieces and nephews, David Dangel, Tessa Dangel, Ella Dangel Costello, Keith Ekman and Benjamin Ekman. He is preceded in death by his parents.
Kurt will be laid to rest with his parents at Lake Forest Cemetery in Lake Forest, Illinois.
A graveside memorial service will be held at Lake Forest Cemetery on July 1, 2024 at 3PM.

Just heard this news. It makes me sad to know such a beautiful soul, with an unending ability to entertain anyone and everyone, has passed. Always loved his Mick Jagger impressions. RIP Kurt.

I knew Kurt when I was a teenager, we were together for four years. I remember how his family took me in and made me feel like I was part of the family. He will be sincerely missed. What I remember most is his quirky sense of humor & his love for theater. He was quite the actor in high school and stole the stage as he starred in Fiddler on the Roof. Kurt was my neighbor before he became my boyfriend when I was eighteen years old. We kept running into one another it seemed everywhere we went. He said it most of been fate and we eventually were in a relationship for a few years and parted as friends.
