Laura Elizabeth Klui

Laura Elizabeth Klui, 32, of Rehoboth Beach, Delaware, passed away peacefully on September 3, 2023, at Jefferson Neuroscience Hospital in Philadelphia, Pennsylvania, with her loving mother, father, and brother at her side. Upon her passing, Laura was able to successfully fulfill her wish to become an organ donor.

Our beautiful Laura was born on January 9, 1991, at Valley Hospital in Ridgewood, New Jersey. She was a beloved daughter, sister, aunt, niece, cousin, and friend, as well as fur-baby mom to Casey and Tilly. She will be forever remembered by Barb Sweeney, her mother; Glen Klui, her father; Jonathan and Martiana Klui, her brother and sister-in-law; Dominic Klui, her nephew; Catherine Klui and Gianna Klui, her nieces; Thomas Klui, her uncle; and Stacia Klui Grosse, Katherine Klui, and Sebastian Klui, her cousins. She was preceded in death by Walt and Florence Sweeney, her maternal grandparents; Walter Klui and Frances Klui, her paternal grandparents; Michael Grosse, brother/brother-in-law of Jeff and Stacia Grosse; Leah Bremmer, Shannon Richman, and Heather Laflamme, close personal friends of Laura's; and fur-babies Toby, Maggie, and Molly.

Laura attended Saint Paul Interparochial School in Ramsey, New Jersey; Northern Highlands Regional High School in Allendale, New Jersey, where she was a member of the competitive swim team; and the University of New Hampshire in Durham, where she earned a B.A. in Psychology with a minor in Sociology. While at UNH, Laura was also an active participant in school organizations, notably as Executive Publicity Chairman of the UNH chapter of ActiveMinds and as Disciplinary Hearing Board Member of the Office of Conduct and Mediation. She joined the Ramsey Rescue Squad while living in New Jersey and was eventually appointed Treasurer. Laura was most recently employed as the Sales and Marketing Manager for Sportography, a sports league photography company based in Atlanta, Georgia.

Laura loved traveling but her favorite places were Rehoboth Beach, Point Pleasant, and Lake George (which she often called her "happy place.") She greatly enjoyed attending Broadway shows and ballet performances, practicing daily yoga, and trying new restaurants. She often went swimming and kayaking and had recently started surfing lessons. Laura also loved music and going to concerts, her favorite performers being Lady Gaga and Blink 182, both of whom she recently got to see on tour.

Laura brought endless joy to her family and friends with her fun-loving nature, as well as with her intelligence and wit. She was an extremely compassionate and understanding young woman who went out of her way to help friends and strangers alike and lived by the adage "pay it forward." Laura had a deep appreciation for the wonders and beauty of nature; she noticed and valued the little things in life.

A memorial service and reception to celebrate Laura's life will be held at 11:00 a.m., Friday, January 12, 2024, at the Church of Saint Elizabeth, 700 Wyckoff Avenue, Wyckoff, New Jersey, with livestream available at https://saintelizabeths.org/live-streaming.
