Laura Kay Lohr

Laura Kay Lohr, born August 18, 1957 in Phoenix, Arizona passed away on January 29, 2025 in Phoenix, Arizona. She was 67 years old.

Laura was a light for those who knew her and filled a room with so much love when she walked into it. She was an extremely loving mother, partner, sister and aunt.

Laura unfortunately passed due to complications from heart surgery in the early hours of January 29, 2025. Though it was a very risky surgery, being the brave woman she was, she decided to take the chance at potentially having additional time with her loved ones and a better quality of life. The surgery went well, but in the end it took too much of a toll on her. Going into surgery she had the overwhelming love and support from her long time love Dan, son Zachary of Phoenix, little sister Dee, brother-in-law John Roberts and niece Jessica all of Surprise, whom she was survived by. Additionally she is survived by her 3 sons Garret Lohr, Aaron Lohr, Bryson Lohr and a brother Ross Justice. She is preceded in death by her father Lial P. Justice, mother JoAnn A. Justice and a brother Roger D. Justice all of Phoenix, Az.

Laura was a graduate from Cortez High School. Laura had a love for sports and her favorite teams included the Pittsburgh Steelers and the Arizona Diamondbacks.

Before beginning her battle with heart issues Laura was a fantastic gunsmith apprentice in addition to also being an expert marksman. She truly took these things as a passion and thoroughly enjoyed doing so.

Animals were another huge passion of hers, her pets meant everything to her.

All in all Laura can be described in few words to show the things she loved and enjoyed. Those being animals, family, God and guns. She could also be described as a true American Patriot, who truly believed in her country.

In her final months, Laura rekindled and gained new relationships with family that truly cared about her and learned what the meaning of family meant.

Though coming from a large family, passing with a small inner circle with the outpouring love of a herd was the perfect way to go. The truth had been reveled, while some relationships were diminished for good reason, others were built with a perfect foundation.

The true meaning of love and acceptance came from those directly close to her and according to long time love Dan and son Zachary, her last few months on this earth were spent being more at peace then in many years leading up to her death.

Laura loved loudly and proudly and will be deeply missed by those who loved her dearly.
