Laurie Ann (Domrad) Day, 67, of Plantsville, passed away at home surrounded by loved ones after her courageous battle with cancer for many years on Monday, May 16, 2022. She was the loving wife of Ozzie Day, Jr., for 38 years.

She was born on August 26, 1954, in Meriden, to Ann (Jankowski) Domrad and the late John Domrad.

Laurie graduated from Southington High School Class of 1972. She became an insurance agent and retired early to care for her grandchildren. Laurie enjoyed listening to music, riding motorcycles and travelling the world with her husband. She also enjoyed spending time with her grandchildren and great-grandchildren.

In addition to her mother and husband she leaves her daughter Carrie, her grandchildren Laura, Zachary, Arianna, Brely and her great-grandchildren Nina and Greyson.

She is also survived by her four sisters, Sharon Kraft and her husband Kenneth, Diane Hamel and her husband Gary, Kathy Domrad and Tammy Kuzmich; mother-in-law Ann McGrath; sisters-in-law, Pauline Domrad, Cindy Day and Jackie McGrath, along with many nieces, nephews, great-nieces and great-nephews.

She was predeceased by her brother Michael Domrad, father-in-law Ozzie Day, Sr., and her father-in-law Jack McGrath.

Services and burial in the Immaculate Conception Cemetery will be held privately for her family. The DellaVecchia Funeral Home, 211 N. Main St., Southington, has been entrusted with the arrangements. Donations in Laurie's Memory may be made to Lustgarten Foundation Pancreatic Cancer Research, 415 Crossways Park Drive, Suite D, Woodbury, New York 11797.
