Lawrence Edward Ingram was born on June 24, 1949, to WN Ingram and Elnora Ingram in Fort Worth, Texas. Lawrence passed away on March 18, 2023, at the age of seventy-three, in his adopted hometown of Jasper, Texas. He died exactly as he pictured – at home being comforted by his life partner, soul mate and wife of fifty-one years, Myrtle Ingram.
Lawrence met the love of his life, Myrtle, while attending college at Prairie View A&M University. It was love at first sight! Lawrence pursued a degree in Business Administration at Prairie View and later, Texas Christian University. He worked hard for Atlanta Life as an accountant/field auditor, and his work schedule often took him away from home. During those times, Myrtle supported his business efforts every step of the way. Together, they had two children, Paul Ingram and Ebony White (Arthur White III); six grandchildren, Gabrielle Ingram, Katelynn Ingram, Jazmin Karandang (Brandon Karandang), Dylan Mathis, Keri Ingram, and Christopher Williams (Kashondra Williams); and two great-grandchildren, Micah Karandang and Za’Riyah Williams.
He was preceded in death by his brother, Michael Ingram, and sisters, Shirley Lofton and Imogene Carter.
He leaves behind additional loved ones including: his sister, Olivia Brown (Henry Brown); brother, David Ingram; brothers-in-law, John Cade (Bobbi Cade) and Alfred Cade; and many cousins, nieces, and nephews.
He worked hard to get to where he was and without a doubt, could be described as a successful man. Lawrence was resilient, restrained, and reserved. Though he was a man of few words, he made sure that his family knew they were important, loved, and cherished.
