Lawrence J. Malanga Sr., 86, passed away on Wednesday, November 6, 2013 at Raritan Bay Medical Center, Perth Amboy. Born in Newark, Lawrence had lived in Fords before moving to Old Bridge 8 years ago. He was a dockworker for Strickland Motor Freight in South Kearny for 25 years retiring in 1977, and was a WWII Veteran of the US Army. Lawrence was predeceased by his wife, Constance (Fernicola) Malanga; his daughter, Sharon Hill; his sister in law, Ginny Malanga; and his brother in law, Pat Corona. He is survived by his son and daughter in law, Lawrence Jr. & Phyllis Malanga; his son and daughter in law, Salvatore & Elaine Malanga; his grandchildren: Tommy, Scott, & Chris Hill, Vincent Malanga, and Danny & Katie Malanga; his brother, Carmine Malanga; his sister, Dolly Corona; and his sister & brother in law, Josephine & Joseph Speteri. Visitation will be held on Monday, November 11, 2013 from 2-4 & 7-9pm at the Michael Hegarty Funeral Home, 3377 Rt. 9, Old Bridge, NJ. Funeral Services will be held on Tuesday, November 12, 2013 at 10am at the funeral home. Interment will follow to Forest Green Park Cemetery, Marlboro, NJ.
