Colbert - Leila Mazelle Cook, 77, of Colbert, died January 10, 2006.
Mrs. Cook was a native of Oconee County and was preceded in death by her parents Harvey and Jettie Mae Whitehead Chatham. She was employed as a legal secretary for Herb Hutto of Fortson Bentley and Griffin Law Firm in Athens before she retired. She was an avid bowler and a member of Colbert Baptist Church.
Survivors include one sister: Estelle Chatham of Colbert, an uncle: Leon Whitehead, four step-children: Ronny Cook of Colbert, Victoria Kettle of Hull, Gary Cook of Colbert and Steve Cook of Virginia Beach, VA, and several nieces, nephews, grandchildren and great- grandchildren.
Pallbearers will be Jonathan Cook, Ronny Cook, Robert Perrin, James Whitehead, Gary Cook, Jeremy Pappe, and Eugene Whitehead, and Ronald Whitehead.
Funeral will be 2pm Thursday at Colbert Baptist Church with the Rev. Don Fuller. Interment will be immediately following the funeral at Hull Baptist Church.
