Leonard JENNINGS Obituary

Published by Windsor Star on Sep. 27, 2014.

JENNINGS, Leonard 'Len'
Passed away peacefully surrounded by family on September 25th, 2014 at the age of 81. Loving husband of 59 years to Rose (nee Regier). Beloved father of Daniel and Andrea Jennings of Fonthill, Dwayne and Denise Jennings of Waterloo and Karen and Gerry Llanos of Stewartsville, NJ. Predeceased by infant daughter Marie (1956). Fun-loving Grandpa of Natalie, Lauren (Anthony), Gregory, Adrian, Amelia, Mitchell and the late Iain (2013). Brother of Kaye Ellies (Bob), Clare Horvat (Joe), Lorna Lane, Marilyn Hall (Bob) and Mike Jennings (Cathy). Brother-in-law of Gerald Regier (Ursula), Al Regier (Doris), Marcella Overholt (Maxim), Bob Regier (Pat), Blanche Overholt (Milford), Lorne Regier (Bernie), Vivian Potier (Ferdinand), Wynne Quinn (Wayne) and Warren Regier (Helen). Born with a modicum of Irish blarney, he was always ready to share a joke. His sense of humour and mischievousness will be fondly remembered by everyone. Len generously volunteered his time to improve his community and help others less fortunate. He helped establish minor hockey in St. Clair Beach in the 1960s and supported the efforts of the Knights of Columbus, Victor C. Cote Council, St. Vincent De Paul, and the Downtown Mission. Len touched many lives and will be sadly missed by all. The family would like to thank Dr. Pizzuti and the C.C.A.C. for all their incredible help and support. As an expression of sympathy, memorial donations can be made to Canadian Mental Health Association (Windsor Branch) and can be arranged through the funeral home. Visiting Sunday Sept. 28th from 3:00 - 5:00 and 7:00 - 9:00 p.m. Knights of Columbus prayers Sunday at 7:30 p.m. followed by parish prayers at

My condolences to the Jennings family. I was privileged to have played hockey in St. Clair Beach when Len was an executive of the association and the manager of the team I played on. Len had a positive influence on myself and all my teammates over those years. He will be sadly missed.
