Lincoln Usher Obituary

Published by Legacy Remembers on Jul. 3, 2024.
It is with deep sorrow that we announce the passing of our beloved son, Lincoln Ray Usher. He passed peacefully in the arms of his parents at home in Boxborough, MA, on June 30, 2024, at the tender age of two. Lincoln was born on April 4, 2022, and brought immense joy and light into our lives during his short time with us.

Despite the many challenges Lincoln faced throughout his courageous battle with Zellweger Spectrum Disorder, he met each day with remarkable strength and resilience, inspiring all who knew him. His laugh was pure and heartwarming, a sound that could melt your heart. He was truly sunshine in human form - his infectious smile and beautiful blue eyes could brighten the darkest of days. Lincoln had a vibrant personality; he was sweet, silly, resilient, and strong-willed. He engaged with his world and communicated with those around him in his own special ways, often belting out one of his many sounds in anticipation of you echoing it back. He loved sensory stimulation - his vibrating and light-up toys, listening to loud music, and bumpy walks in his stroller. He adored his Mama and Dada more than anything and had his own ways of showing it - pulling his Dada's beard and running his fingers through his Mama's hair, fluttering his eyelashes for butterfly kisses, reaching his arms up to touch your face when he felt you over him, and sticking out his tongue for "Linky kisses." He cherished playing games with his Dada and wrapping himself around his Mama in a warm embrace. He was happiest when home with his parents and felt safest in their arms. His joyful, gentle spirit touched the hearts of all who met him, and he will forever be remembered for his unwavering courage and the profound love he shared.

Lincoln is survived by his loving parents, Christopher and Jamie Usher, who cherished every moment with him. He is also deeply missed by his adoring grandparents, Michael and Laura Reynolds, John and Paula Usher, and a close-knit family of aunts, uncles, and cousins. He touched the lives of many caregivers, medical professionals, and therapists, affectionately known as "Team Lincoln," who helped his parents give him the best possible quality of life.

Lincoln's time with us was far too short, but we will always treasure our memories of him, and his legacy of love and bravery will live on in our hearts forever.

A Celebration of Life will be held for Lincoln in the coming months; more details will follow. In lieu of flowers, the family kindly requests donations be made in Lincoln's memory to The Global Foundation for Peroxisomal Disorders (thegfpd.org), which does amazing work to improve the lives of warriors like Lincoln and families affected by this terrible disease.

I, along with my prayer warrior friends, have prayed for Lincoln from the day he was born. I was honored to be able to follow his life's struggles and victories through stories, videos and pictures shared by my good friend, and Lincoln's grandmother, Paula. More than once, I cried as I watched in awe, the happiness and joy that little guy displayed despite his challenges. Always, I was touched and amazed in admiration for the relentless love, dedication, and care that little Lincoln was blessed with by his parents, Chris and Jamie. I remain convinced that your selfless acts of love and courage were pleasing to God, our creator, who entrusted to you His child, Lincoln, who was perfect in His sight in every way. May you find peace in knowing that in loving Lincoln, you touched the heart of God.

I have followed and prayed for little Lincoln through his lovely grandmother, Laura. The proud grandmother most offten would show me beautiful pictures of him. He emitted much joy through his facial features. As a believer in Christ Jesus and in Heaven, I know that little Lincoln is out of the limitations of the body and his soul is now back in heaven free, at peace and is continuing to be loved. God bless his parents who lovingly cared for little Lincoln on this planet in the physical realm. Peace Be With You All.....

I had the pleasure of knowing Lincoln through his Grandmother, Paula. Every time she came over to my house, she would share all his pictures and videos with me. He was so strong and always had a smile. His entire family was so supportive. Lincoln was happiest with his Mama and Dada who couldn´t have been more nurturing or loving during his short time on earth. May he Rest in Peace.

Although I was not able to meet Lincoln in person I loved watching his life and sharing his journey via social media. Lincoln´s smile was infectious and the love his family had for him was unconditional. I rooted, prayed and encouraged Lincoln from the side lines throughout all stages of his life and I send you all my love and support in his passing. I thank you for being vulnerable and open with your families journey. Lincoln´s legacy will live forever in my heart
