Linda Keith Obituary

Published by The Saratogian from Feb. 14 to Feb. 15, 2022.
Linda (Carey) Keith, of Dedham and Sandwich, MA, died peacefully on February 11 after a courageous seven year battle with Ovarian Cancer. She is survived by the loves of her life, her three children, Kristin Keith of Dedham, MA, Erin Epker and her husband, Mark, of Dedham, MA, and Jonathan Keith and his wife, Kristen, of Milton and her six grandchildren who were her greatest joy; Charlotte, Molly, and Teddy Epker, Brooke Porter, and Hatcher and Jackson Keith. Linda was predeceased by her dear sister and best friend, Elizabeth (Carey) Ewing; and her cherished parents, Catherine (Moore) and William Carey. Besides her children, Linda is survived by her beloved brother, William Carey and his wife, Barbara (Ashton), of Ipswich, MA, and brother-in-law, Michael Ewing of Sebring, Florida. She will also be missed by her fun and treasured Moore and Carey cousins - all of whom were like siblings, many adoring nieces and nephews, her grandparent co-chairs and dear friends, John and Shelley Keith, and the extended Keith family.Linda was born and raised in Saratoga Springs, NY, received an education degree from SUNY Plattsburgh and moved to Boston with her dear friend, Linda Crosby Mullin, to teach Kindergarten in Lexington. After marrying in 1969, Linda moved to Canton and turned her energies to her most important career - raising her three children. She filled her home with her joyful and generous spirit, became a connected member of the neighborhood, threw fabulous parties, and joined the Canton Garden Club, where she was a longtime member and made many wonderful friends. In 1976, the Keith family joined the Dedham Country Day School community, and Linda lent her many talents to volunteering. It was here she put down her roots, and built precious lifelong friendships serving as DCD Fair Chair, fundraiser, class parent, and eventually, as a member of the Board of Trustees from 1987-1993. After 17 consecutive years of service, it was a great joy to experience the “DCD magic” when she returned as a grandparent in 2004. She loved being on the sidelines of her six grandchildren’s games, and in the audience of their school plays. Linda loved the Christmas holidays and made the Boston Pops a family tradition for decades. Family was everything to Linda, and the source of her energy, joy, and legacy. Linda was a faithful Catholic, a voracious reader, and loved spending time at the beach on the Cape, in Palm Beach Gardens, Florida, and in Saratoga Springs, where she and her children spent many happy vacations and holidays. Linda and her family aregrateful to Dr. Ursula Matulonis and the extraordinary Dana Farber Ovarian Cancer team, the army of special nurses and friends we met throughout our time in their care, Dr. Ayal Aizer and Dr. Katie Wakeley for their wonderful guidance, and the lovely women of Clare Senior Care who brought love, humor, and kindness to Linda’s final months.Visiting Hours will be held Tuesday, February 15 from 4:00 - 7:00 p.m. at the Eaton Funeral Home, 1351 Highland Ave., NEEDHAM. A Funeral Mass will be held Wednesday, February 16 at10:00 a.m. at St. Joseph's Church, 1360 Highland Ave., Needham. In lieu of flowers, donations may be made in Linda’s memory to The Ovarian Cancer Fund at Dana Farber danafarber.jimmyfund.org or to Dedham Country Day School www.dedhamcountryday.orgTo share a memory or send a note of condolence, please visitwww.eatonfuneralhomes.com https://www.lastingmemories.com/linda-keith

Hello Erin, Kristin and Jonathan. I was with Jeff Connors yesterday and he told me about your Mom. I feel terrible, I had no idea, as I believe none of my family did. We would have all been to her services. I have so many happy memories of the time when we all lived on Fall Lane, it's just so hard to believe. My heartfelt condolences to the extended Keith family. I am so sorry for your loss, and will be keeping you in my thoughts and prayers. God bless you guys.

My condolences to everyone, specifically Jon, Kristin and Erin. Your mom was a very special lady who had an important impact on my life. I'll never forget spending time in Canton and taking trips to the Cape and Florida with you. She was really one of the best ever. My thoughts are with you all.
