Linda Raque Obituary

Published by Legacy Remembers on Jul. 3, 2025.
Linda Blake Raque, 76, passed away peacefully, on July 1, 2025, surrounded by her family, in Louisville, Kentucky, the city where she was born and spent her life.

Born on March 28, 1949, to Benjamin and Dorothy Blake, Linda grew up with a vibrant spirit that would define her throughout her life. She attended St. Francis of Rome and graduated from Atherton High School, laying the foundation for a life marked by compassion, humor, and resilience.

Linda dedicated more than two decades to the healthcare field as a phlebotomist at Suburban, Baptist East, and St. Mary's Hospitals. Her kind and compassionate bedside manner along with her infectious smile, made her adored by her patients and colleagues. Known for her quick wit and fun personality, she brought warmth and laughter to every room she entered.

She was the proud mother of four children: Amy Lytle (Ted), Katie Rueff (Kevin), Adam Raque, and Jill Wimsatt (Justin). Her love extended deeply to her grandchildren-Nicholas, Jackson, Remi, and Austin. Linda is also survived by her sisters, Judy Nutt (Hale) and Terry Edmonson. She was preceded in death by her parents and her beloved brother, Frank Blake.

Over the years, Linda cultivated deep friendships that became like family. From lifelong companions that she cherished since childhood to friends she made in recent years, they all stood by her side surrounding her with unwavering love and support. Her family is profoundly grateful for these treasured relationships.

The care, compassion and kindness provided by the nurses, aides, social workers and staff from both the Masonic Home Sam Swope Care Center, and Hosparus were second to none. They filled her final months with safety and comfort, and the family extends their utmost gratitude.

A private celebration of life is being planned for her family and close friends. Memorial contributions may be made to Hosparus Health, www.hosparushealth.org.

May Linda's memory bring comfort to all who knew and loved her.

I met Linda when she was a teenager, she was dating my sweet cousin. She was fun, feisty and beautiful. She gave me the gift of her daughter Amy and I will always be grateful for that. She will be missed by her family and friends, but especially her children. If I listen close enough I can hear her and mom laughing.
