Linda Smith Obituary

Published by Legacy Remembers on Jun. 8, 2024.
Linda L Smith, age 87, of Upper Sandusky, formerly of Marysville and Mansfield, passed away peacefully Tuesday, June 4, 2024 at Wyandot County Skilled Nursing and Rehabilitation.

A woman of great faith, her family takes comfort in knowing that their loving mother, grandmother, and great-grandmother is now worshiping at the feet of her Lord.

Born and raised in Mansfield, Ohio, Linda was married nearly 54 years to her high school sweetheart, Victor, who passed away in 2010. She was a member of Trinity Evangelical church.

She loved animals, especially cats, enjoyed watching and feeding birds, camping, and traveling each year with Victor to southern Indiana to witness the migration of Whooping Cranes. She was a stamp collector, liked doing needlework, made Christmas stockings for her grandchildren and great-grandchildren, and enjoyed playing cards, but most of all she loved being with her children and grandchildren, rarely missing an event in their lives, putting lots of miles on her car in order to attend ball games, band concerts, and recitals. She will be missed beyond measure.

She was born December 26, 1936, in Mansfield to the late Kenneth W. and Mary O. (Laughbaum) Ferguson. She was preceded in death by her husband Victor Smith, husband Joe Thompson and sister Gloria Heidlebaugh. Survivors include her children, Vicki (John) DeLong, Nevada, OH, Deb (Paul) Black, Bolivar, OH, and Ken (Jenny) Smith, Winchester, KY, ten grandchildren, and thirteen great-grandchildren.

Linda's body has been donated to The Ohio State University Body Donation Program. A service celebrating her life will take place on Sunday, June 23, 2024, Trinity Evangelical Church, 108 Malabar Drive, Upper Sandusky at 2:00 pm. Calling hours begin at 1:00 pm and you are encouraged to attend a fellowship luncheon immediately following the service.

In lieu of flowers, the family asks that donations be made to Trinity Evangelical Church.
