Lindsay Rice Obituary

Published by Legacy Remembers on Mar. 22, 2024.
Lindsay Michele Rice, aged 38, of Louisville, Kentucky, passed away on March 15, 2024, in Louisville.

She leaves behind her precious four-year-old daughter, Hendrix Saint Gabriel. Lindsay was a beloved daughter of Arlene "Shy" Rice, a cherished sister of Dana Parker (Dennis) and Jacob Rice (Jessica). Lindsay will also be remembered fondly by many aunts, uncles, cousins, and friends. She was preceded in death by her father, Jacob Keith Rice, her brother, Gabriel Stephan Rice, paternal grandparents John & Louise Rice, maternal grandparents Earl & Margaret Boehnlein, Uncle Tom Jenkins, cousins Jason Massey, Brock Jenkins, Christopher & David Seibert,

Lindsay was known for her love of animals, especially horses, and her culinary skills. Lindsay loved to travel, and especially loved Puerto Rico, New York City, and San Francisco. She was an adventurous cook, always trying new recipes and cuisines. Lindsay's sense of humor, ever-changing hair colors, and passion for fashion made her a joy to be around. Above all, she found her greatest pride and joy in being Hendrix's mother.
Having received her certification as an EKG technician from Bellarmine College, Lindsay briefly worked in that field before following her true calling in mercy outreach. Her heart led her to serve the unhoused community in Louisville as a case manager for the Coalition for the Homeless, where she tirelessly worked to provide resources and support to those in need.

Lindsay was a member of Bethlehem Baptist Church and also attended Southeast Christian Church Blankenbaker Campus.

In honor of Lindsay's life, a celebration will be held in May around her birthday, tentatively scheduled for Saturday, May 11, between 5:00 p.m. - 8:00 p.m. at a private venue in Louisville. This event will be an open house where family and friends can pay their respects.

For those who wish to make contributions, a Go Fund Me page has been set up to support Hendrix's care. Additionally, a trust fund will be established for Hendrix's future needs at PNC Bank. Donations can be made through various channels, including Venmo (@Arlene-Rice), Zelle (contact Lindsay's mom for details), or by sending a check (reach out to Lindsay's mom for the address).

Lindsay requested instead of a funeral, she wanted to have a celebration of her life in a private gathering. The venue details will be announced soon.

Our thoughts and prayers are with Lindsay's family and friends during this difficult time. May her memory be a blessing to all who knew her.

My Lou Bears, I love you. The funniest memory I have is of you and Huckleberry (our Beasley dog) the time dad decided we´d have a camp fire in our backyard when we lived in Indiana. We had gone back into the house for more hot dogs to cook on the fire- and as we headed back to the camp Huckleberry came running by you as fast as his legs would go and snatched the hot dogs out of your hand... we laughed so hard and chased him- but he got away and ate every last hot dog And, a pig? You had a pot belly pig as a pet- as an adult-one time we took him for a walk on a leash and a pit bull tried to chomp ole Gus Gus the pug. You warded off the dog with a bat. And, know Hendrix will always know you and never forget you- we will tell her how much you loved her and how she was your world. For that child you did pray. As you walk in the other side of eternity, I can only imagine your restoration- you fought til the end- now you´ve found your peace. And, I told you heaven was real! Love, Mommasita
