Linnie Frasier Hargett, 82, of Hamilton, Ala., died Wednesday, Jan. 17, 2007.

Visitation was 6-9 p.m. Thursday, Jan. 18, 2007, at Marion County Funeral Home.

The funeral will be at 11 a.m. Friday, Jan. 19, 2007, at Hamilton Church of Christ. The body will lie in state from 10-11 a.m. at the church before the service. Burial will be in Corinth National Cemetery, Corinth, Miss.

Officiating at the funeral will be Brother Ted Burleson and Dale Jenkins.

He was preceded in death by daughter, Kristie Lynn Hargett; parents, Henry Judson Hargett and Ollie Bell Ables Hargett; and brother, Cecil Hargett.

He is survived by wife, Marie Hargett, Hamilton, Ala.; son, Richard Hargett, Orange Beach, Ala.; daughter, Jeannie (Bruce) Miller, Hamilton, Ala.; sisters, Ann Green, Booneville, Miss., and Elva Scobey, Atlanta, Ga.; grandchildren, Lynn (Brad) Hatcher, Marietta, Ga., Ricky Hargett, Orange Beach, Ala., Brett (Misty) Miller, Hamilton, Ala., Emily (Jason) Peterson, Myrtle Beach, S.C., and Lindsey (Nick) Pritchard, Columbia, S.C.; great-grandchildren, Sarah Paxton Miller, Miller Peterson, Hadley Cate Peterson, Sawyer Peterson and Jackson Hatcher; and four nieces and nephews.

He served as a deacon at many Churches of Christ and served as an elder for more than 20 years at Hamilton Church of Christ. He was on the board of directors at Maywood Christian Camp in Hamilton, co-founder of Camp Merihah, Centerville, Tenn., project director building site of Guyana, South America Church of Christ, project manager housing development in Moscow, Russia, project manager of building of Hamilton Church of Christ and beloved member of Hamilton Church of Christ. He was a loving husband, father, grandfather and great-grandfather.

Marion County Funeral Home assisted the family.
