Lisa Spencer Heslep, 55, of Smyrna, died February 27th, 2017.
Lisa was born in New Martinsville, WV to James and Wanda Spencer. She was a 1979 graduate of Paden City High School. She went on to earn an associates degree from Fairmont State College. She possessed a very strong work ethic and loved her job with Willis Towers Watson. Her greatest love, however was her family. She loved her husband and sons more than life itself. She was equally loved by her family and friends. She was kind hearted and a joy to be around.
Lisa is preceded in death by her son, Jesse Heslep; her mother, her brother Terry Spencer, and grandparents.
Lisa is survived by her beloved husband Tim of Smyrna, son Matt of San Diego, California, sister Robin Spencer of Paden City, WV; brother Tony Spencer and his wife Ulyana Troy, Ohio, brother Tom Spencer of Bellefonte, Pennsylvania. Sister-in law Nova Spencer also of Bellefonte, father- and mother-in-law Jerry and Pat Heslep of Parkersburg, WV, sister in law Gwen Justice of Mineral Wells, WV, brothers in law Mark Heslep of Vienna, WV, Todd Heslep of Parkersburg, WV, several nieces and nephews, and great nieces and nephews, all of whom she adored. She also leaves behind her very dear and devoted friend Karen Bailey of White House, Tennessee.
Funeral service will be held at Woodlawn-Roesch-Patton Funeral Home, Nashville, on March 4, 2017 at 11:30 a.m. The family will receive visitors from 10:00 a.m. until the time of the service.

Dear Tim and Matt, my heart is broken for you and I am praying for you. I shared a cubicle at Willis with Lisa and will miss her terribly. She was my closest friend at work and I can't imagine life without her. May God give peace and comfort beyond your understanding.

Lisa and I were more than coworkers the 15 or so years we worked together at Liberty, we were confidants, sisters and loved each other. We kept each other laughing when things were difficult at work and in our private lives. We talked about family, music, art, crafts and even business (though not as much as we should have). She was a special person who was creative, fun and so talented on the computer. We kept up with each other after we left the company but we hadn't see one another for a while and I regret that deeply. I will miss her terribly and pray for Tim, Matthew, Robin and the rest of the family. Lisa ande Jesse were wonderful people.

I am so sorry for the loss your family has suffered. Words cannot express my sadness. I loved Lisa and I loved working with Lisa. She always had a smile even when I knew she was frustrated!! I will pray God gives you all the strength to come through on the other side of this with peace and understanding.

Words are just so hard right now. Matt, Tim and family, Lisa loved you deeply and always smiled when speaking of you. I will share one memory from the office that you may not know. She was the queen bee speller for sure. She told me of the time at Myrtle Beach when she was in the spelling bee contest and had to tell them how to spell a word... Long story short she shot me a quick IM one day and was trying to say how goofy she was and spelled it as googy. From that day forward we called each other googy... We made each other laugh, shared each other's dreams and fun memories. She ALWAYS put the happy in my day! I loved her dearly and will miss her soooooo very much! I'd just love to see her pop around the corner with her big smile and to show me one of her weekend bargains or IM me for lunch at noon in her punctual way or just to sit and talk and share our lives at lunch everyday. Lisa and my friendship grew rather quickly when found we had so many things in common, so much to the point we quickly began calling each other "sissy" and she truly was like a sister to me! I miss her so much! Please know that I am praying with you all through this hard time. Much love, Karen Bailey
