Lois Ann Cox (née Williams), aged 95, passed away peacefully on January 9, 2024, in Lancaster, Pennsylvania. Born on May 29, 1928, in Carbondale, Pennsylvania, she was the daughter of the late John R. Williams and Anna Stiles Williams. Her devotion to her family and her fervent passion for education marked the many chapters of her fulfilling life.

A respected and dedicated educator, Lois taught elementary school students in Franklin Lakes, New Jersey, and Spring Valley, New York, for over three decades. Lois's influence as a teacher has left an indelible mark on her community and the many lives she enriched.

Lois's love for travel and card games, especially when shared with family, brought her great joy and provided countless cherished memories. She was an esteemed member of various civic groups, contributing with vigor and grace to the social fabric of her community.

Lois is lovingly remembered by her son, Robert "Bob" Watts Cox Jr and his wife Bette; daughter Jo Anne Cox Oberly and her husband Terry Oberly; granddaughter Jessica Zenoka; grandsons Michael Petocz, Jeffrey Cox, Daniel Cox, and Kevin Cox; and great-grandchildren Jordyn and Jayson Zenoka, Hank and Blake Cox. Mourning her passing as well are her brothers, John Williams and his wife Mary, Millard "Buzz" Williams and his wife Carol, and Gerald "Jerry" Williams and his wife Mary. She joins in eternity her husband Robert "Bob" Watts Cox, parents and sisters, Claire Williams Thomas and Janice Williams Mitchell.

An alumna of Carbondale High School, Lois pursued higher education at William Paterson University, Rutgers University, Monmouth College, Seton Hall University and Nova University exemplifying lifelong learning and the pursuit of knowledge.

In keeping with Lois's wishes, there will be no services. A celebration of Lois's life will be held in the future at the convenience of the family. Kindly omit flowers. Those who wish to honor her memory are encouraged to make a charitable contribution to the Sponsors of Educational Opportunity (SEO) or the American Cancer Society.
