Lonnie Meadows Obituary

Published by Legacy Remembers on Mar. 3, 2025.
Lonnie Jewel "LJ" Meadows II, born on March 4, 1980, in Michigan City, Indiana, passed away on January 3, 2025. He spent his early years in Summersville, West Virginia, before moving to Kentucky in 1997, where he embraced the role of a father figure to his nephew Dakota Meadows.

LJ was the beloved son of Cherie Lynn Meadows and a cherished sibling to Michelle Aylesworth (Chris), Charles Meadows, Christi Dick, and Cathy Meadows. He was also a devoted uncle to Dakota Meadows; Victoria Quartero (Keoni); Zara Brooks (Stellan); Zavier, Eliyah, and Joah Aylesworth; Stephan, Deborah, and Cathleen Spisak; and a proud great-uncle to Tate Brooks.

Known for his warm sense of humor and peacemaking spirit, LJ had a unique ability to bring comic relief to any tense situation. He was deeply devoted to his family and took pride in being a self-proclaimed "momma's boy." His love for his family knew no bounds.

LJ's passions included comic books, Dragon Ball Z, and his favorite superhero, Superman. He also had a fondness for Famous Recipe chicken liver and gizzards and pumpkin pie. These simple joys reflected in his gentle nature.

As the middle child among five siblings, LJ held a special place in the hearts of those who knew him. His legacy of love, laughter, and unwavering dedication to family will be remembered by all who were fortunate enough to share in his life.

LJ was deeply loved by his family. He was consistent with reaching out to his mom, siblings, nephews and nieces. He never missed a birthday, Mother's Day, holiday, or any other reason to celebrate or send a congratulations for a job well-done.

LJ spent the last couple of years of his life at the Belmont Terrace Nursing and Rehabilitaion Center where he was seen as more than a patient by staff members. LJ would always stand up for the under-dog or anyone else, especially a woman, who was being mistreated.

May LJ's memory bring comfort and peace to his loved ones as they celebrate the life of a man who meant so much to so many.

One of my favorite students at Glade Creek Elementary School. Kind, good-natured, and very cute! So sad to learn of his passing. Earth's loss is Heaven's gain. Mrs. Marsh
