M. von ARX Obituary
January 24, 1927 – April 1, 2017
Survived by her children Sharon von Arx, John von Arx, and Michael (Lorna) von Arx; grandchildren Amanda (Fernando Llanes) von Arx, Ashley von Arx (currently of Sydney, Australia), and Ryan von Arx; and great- grandson Hugo Llanes-von Arx. Also survived by her siblings Lois Blundell of Stoney Plain; Jack (Lois) Moen of Victoria, B.C.; Carol (Gary) Hull of Puerto Vallarta, MX; and Lawrence Moen of Salmon Arm, B.C. Joyce also leaves to mourn many nieces, nephews, friends and neighbours, both in Canada and Puerto Vallarta.
Joyce was predeceased by her parents Marjorie and Clarence Moen; sisters Diane McGowan (Lorne, and her daughter Stacey) and Sandra Kawase (Yosh, Dana, and Roger); brother-in-law Duncan Blundell; sisters-in- law Patti Shepherd-Moen (Lawrence) and Margarit von Arx; sister-in-law Gertrude Cummings, brother-in-law Reginald Cummings, and their children Margaret Ann Cummings-Scholsser and Donald Cummings; and her husband Arnold von Arx.
Joyce had a short hospital stay in Puerto Vallarta and at Grey Nuns Hospital, receiving excellent care at both facilities. Thank you to Dr. S. Duggan and the team at Grey Nuns Hospital, Stn 24 ICU, for their care of our mother and family.
In lieu of flowers or other tributes, memorial donations may be made to the Grey Nuns Hospital Foundation.
