MANUELA GONZALEZ Obituary
Manuela Garza Gonzalez from Mission went on to meet our Lord and Savior on Wednesday June 16th.
She was born on December 24, 1940 in Weslaco to Jose and Guadalupe Garza and raised in Mission Texas. Manuela married her sweetheart Raul Gonzalez, Jr. on December 14, 1959 at the Hidalgo County Court House. Fifty years later, she and Raul renewed their wedding vows with the blessing of the church and her beloved children as Father Roy Snipes from Our Lady of Guadalupe blessed them with a Catholic ceremony.
Manuela was very humble and had a very sweet and loving personality. She especially loved visiting with her children and considered all of the grandchildren her "Pride and Joy". Her face would light up a room when she was around the grandkids. Manuela will be missed dearly and will leave a void in all of the family's heart but will never be forgotten as her memories live on through her children and grandchildren.
Manuela was preceded in death by her grandson Raulito, and sisters Dora Garza Escobedo, Estella Garza Anzaldua and Ester Garza. She is survived by her loving husband Raul and seven children Raul Gonzalez (Vilma), Pablo Gonzalez (Diana), Diana Gonzalez Pena (Xavier), Linda Gonzalez Perez (Jaime), Carlos Gonzalez (Veronica), Robert Gonzalez and Ramiro Gonzalez.
Grandchildren: Roxanne Gonzalez; Brianna, Lorissa and Marco Pena, Jaime and Antonio Perez, Pablo and Edgar Gonzalez, and Larah, Karyn and Andrea Gonzalez and great grandson Timothy. She is also survived by sister Alicia Webber, brothers Pablo Garza and Ramiro Garza (Olivia) and numerous nieces and nephews.
Serving as Pallbearers will be sons Raul, Pablo, Carlos, Robert, Ramiro and Nephew Jose Escobedo.
Visitation will be held Friday June 18, 2010 from 1:00 pm to 9:00 pm with a 7:00 pm rosary at Ric Brown Family Funeral Home. Funeral Mass will be held Saturday June 19, 2010 at 10:00 am at Our Lady of Holy Rosary. Burial will follow at Valley Memorial Gardens in McAllen .
The family wishes to thank everyone for their kind words, flowers and prayers. A special thank you to the staff at Doctors Hospital at Renaissance for making Raul and Manuela's Catholic marriage an especially memorable one along with everyone involved with the Comfort House as they are all truly angels. Services are under the direction of Ric Brown Family Funeral Home in Mission.
