MARC DUGUAY Obituary
Peacefully in hospital, Ottawa, Ontario on Sunday, July 26, 2015. Beloved son of Helen Duguay (nee Assad) and the late Gaston Duguay. Loving husband of Stephanie Smith. Cherished father of Stephanie, Michel and Amanda. Cherished Grampa of Emily and Elizabeth. Fondly remembered by many uncles, aunts, cousins, colleagues and friends. Family and friends may call at the Westboro Chapel of Tubman Funeral Homes, 403 Richmond Road, Ottawa, on Thursday, July 30, 2015 from 7 p.m. to 9 p.m. Preservice visitation at 10 a.m. followed by the Funeral Service at 11 a.m. in St. Malachy Church, 3889 Route 315, Mayo, QC., on Friday. Reception following the service at the Knights of Columbus Hall, Buckingham. Memorial donations to the University of Ottawa Heart Institute Foundation would be appreciated by the family.

The times in Wood Residence was improved through those several years with Marc. Many nights sitting in the hallway of C house discussing the world and where we might find ourselves in 40 or 50 years. Time has flown so very quickly and yet those memories of Glendon remain. A lovely chap. Ubique Marc.

Knowing Marc was one of the highlights of my time at Glendon College. His incredible zest for life, his warmth, authenticity and his wonderful way of including so many people within his huge circle of friends will never be forgotten. If you knew Marc, you knew you had a friend for life.

Marc was my neighbour in Wood Residence and kept in touch over the years, especially at the time Glendon's future was in jeopardy. I was very sad to hear of his passing. My condolences to the family. He will be missed.

Many fond memories of Marc during our years at Glendon College. I remember his joie de vivre, incredible smile, laughter, and willingness to be involved. I found 2 photos from PRO TEM 1974 and his article from the 20th anniversary edition that tell you a lot about Marc, and our times at Glendon. He will be missed by many. Condolences to the family.

I was so surprised and saddened about the passing of Marc. I have great memories of Marc when he attended Ashbury College and I was at Elmwood School. A very happy and positive guy!

I am a former colleague of Marc and I will always remember Marc as a true gentleman. Marc worked at Public Works and Government Services Canada and Shared Services Canada Legal Services for more than 20 years. Marc was a learned counsel who was a mentor to many lawyers over the years. He showed interest in everybody from a professional and human point of view. He was a highly respected advisor. Even in the briefest of exchanges with him, one was left with profound and positive impressions. His friends and colleagues at Justice Canada will truly miss him.

I have fond souvenirs of the years at Glendon from the intellectual reparties to the nights at 'Le Café de la Terrasse'. If I cannot make it Friday, I will certainly take a walk on the campus and lay a bouquet with a sorrow note and a heartfelt thought for all who love him and will miss him.

Marc was a close friend and confidant. Our times together were extremely memorable and we were inseparable in Law School. Marc's joie de vivre, big laugh, love for life and the Habs, especially number 10, Moe's, Schwartz's, La Beanerie, Toe Blakes' Taverne, trips to Quebec City and Ottawa were great memories. We loved the Brokerage take-out packages that his Mom sent us by bus to Montreal. Helping to build his dream log cabin with all his buddies was an experience I will never forget.Marc was a role model and mentor and he will be truly missed.
