My earliest memory of Bob was when he would come to the East Moline Dispatch office to report on the amount of butter, peanut butter, corn and other items his township had distributed. Later when I was with Project NOW he helped secure part-time work for many many referrals in the CETA ( then workforce program--under Phil Olson who unfortunately also passed away recently). Bob's medical center was a godsend for the many elderly and indigent clients of Project NOW. His contributions to the community as a whole were underrated by the media because of his politics. An unassuming politician and easy to talk to; a rarity these days and who will be missed by many.

My sympathy go out to the DeJaegher family. I had the good fortune to work with Representative DeJaegher on economic development issues in the 1980s in Springfield. He was a class act and a true gentleman warrior for the "little guy". I remember well going to Glenview Junior High with his daughter Michelle (Shelley) and having so much fun with her and our girlfriends. My prayers are with you all. He will be missed by many.

Bob was a great family man and a legislator with a big heart. I had the privilege of working as his legislative assistant during my years on the Illinois House Democratic staff in Springfield.
God Bless you Bob and the entire DeJaegher and Warner families.

My deepest sympathies to Bob's family. Bob was a great Democrat and a great leader, but more importantly, he was a true friend of the"little guy. Bob alway went out of his way to help people in need. It didn't matter what your stature was in the community, you could always count on Bob DeJaegher being on your side!!!! Thank God for Bob DeJaegher. May he rest in peace!!

I have childhood memories of a man that seemed larger than most. He seemed large to me in all aspects of life. Stature, Confidence, Voice and Presence. I have childhood memories of thinking "I sure am glad this large man is smiling"
May you have an eternal smile upon your face.
Great Regards,
Paul Fredenburg

Thank you Mr. DeJaegher for your service to our country. Our Heavenly Father has welcomed home another heroic American. From a fellow veteran.
