Mrs. Marguerite A. Capano

Marguerite A. Capano, age 89, passed away peacefully at home on Monday, February 4, 2013. Marguerite was born on June 12, 1923 in Wilmington, Delaware. She was the daughter of the late Tomaso and Assunta Moglioni. Marguerite graduated from Wilmington High School and Goldey Beacon College. She married Louis J. Capano, Sr. in 1943. In the early days of their marriage, she worked at the Dupont Company and then went on to have 5 children. She was a devoted wife, mother, grandmother and great grandmother. Marguerite loved to travel and enjoyed many happy summers with her family in North Wildwood and Stone Harbor. Her smile and sky blue eyes lit up her face, especially around her grandchildren. She was a wonderful cook and passed her recipes down to her family, who will always miss Sunday dinners with Nonna. In addition to her parents, Marguerite was predeceased in death by her husband in 1980 after 37 years of marriage. Also deceased are her sisters, Hope Mary Marta and Mary Rizzo; her brothers, Tony Pacelli and Rinaldo (Rinny) Moglioni; and her son, Thomas J. Capano. Marguerite is survived by her daughter, Marian Ramunno (Lee) and sons, Louis Jr., Joseph M. (Joanne), and Gerard (Heather). She is also survived by 15 grandchildren, Vincent Ramunno, Jr., Louis Ramunno (Melanie), Lisa Charney (Stan), Christy Capano, Katie Capano, Jenny Purzycki (Joe), Alex Capano, Louis Capano, III, Anthony Capano, Angie Gray (Everett), Michelle Chandler (Rob), Marie Downes (Ford), Danielle Capano, Gerard T. Capano and Gianni Capano. Survivors also include 12 great grandchildren; Vincent, III., Sophia, Christina, Marianna, Stanley, Seraphina, Cleo, Lydia, Daphne, Edith, Vivian, and Griffin and extended family, Kay Ryan, Debbie Hudson, Michelle Capano, Christina Prucino, and Mina Lee. Friends and family are invited to a viewing at CHANDLER FUNERAL HOME, 2506 Concord Pike from 6:00 pm to 8:00 on Wednesday February 6, 2013. Mass of Christian Burial will be offered at 10:00 am on Thursday February 7, 2013 at St. Anthony of Padua Church, 901 N. DuPont Street, Wilmington. Burial will follow in Cathedral Cemetery. In lieu of flowers, the family has requested memorial contributions to the Louis J. Capano, Sr. Scholarship Fund, Attn: Howard Fortunato, 1600 N.
