Marie Louise Yonker Marie Louise Yonker, 89, of Conroe and formerly of Groves passed away on Friday, August 21, 2009, after a short but gallant fight against cancer. Marie was born on January 26, 1920, in Barnesville, Minnesota to the late Fred Boltz and Violet Boltz. After living on the west coast and in Fargo, North Dakota, she moved with her husband to Groves, Texas. She enjoyed gardening and traveling with her husband to various thoroughbred tracks to watch their horses run. Marie was preceded in death by her husband, Jack Yonker as did her son, Gerald Yonker; step-sons, Rocky Yonker and John Yonker. Upon her husband's death, she moved to Port Neches where she enjoyed visiting with neighbors and gardening. She eventually moved with her son and daughter- in-law to an active adult community in Conroe, Texas where she enjoyed spending more time with her granddaughters. Marie is survived by her son, James Yonker and wife Delores Yonker of Conroe, Texas; step-daughter, Patti Johnson and husband Clayton Johnson of Portland, Oregon; daughter-in-law, Trish Yonker of Purceville, Virginia. In addition, she leaves her grandchildren behind, Scott Yonker, Todd Yonker and his wife Melanie Yonker, Kristen Yonker, Kari White and her husband Michael White; numerous nieces and nephews; great grandchildren as well as her beloved cat, Toby. A gathering of friends and family will take place from 1:00 p.m. until 3:00 p.m. Monday, August 24, 2009, at Grammier-Oberle Funeral Home in Port Arthur. Private graveside services will follow immediately at Greenlawn Memorial Park in Groves. In lieu of flowers or gifts, please make donations to the American Cancer Society.
