Mario Pagano Obituary
Mario "Mac" V. Pagano, Age 77, of Billerica, MA formerly of Cranston, RI died Friday, December 25 with his long time and loving companion Diane at his side.
Mario was born in Providence RI on August 29, 1943 a son of the late Arthur and Frances (Ciancola) Pagano. He lived in Cranston, RI for many years and then in Billerica, MA for the last 22 years. He proudly served in the U.S. Army during the Vietnam War as a military police officer with the 115th Army National Guard Company out of Rhode Island..
He was employed in the automobile industry for over 30 years as a Finance Manager for many auto dealerships in the Boston area.
Mac is survived by his companion Diane Fogg of Billerica, MA, his daughter, Deborah Morry and her husband Keith of Attleboro, MA; his son, David Pagano and his wife Robin also of Attleboro, MA; Diane's son, Mark Capobianco and his wife Jessica of Chelmsford, MA; his brothers, Arthur, John and Anthony Pagano all of Cranston, RI. He is also survived by his six grandchildren that he loved very much, Amanda, Drew, Ryan, Jonathan, Jack and Max.
Mario was a gifted athlete during his younger years playing basketball, baseball and football. Excelling in baseball, Mac was drafted out of Cranston East High School in 1961 by the Boston Red Sox where he rose through the ranks with such players like Tony Conigliaro and George Scott. One of Mario's favorite hobbies was watching his grandchildren competing in their sports. A typical weekend was spent at a ball field, a gym or enjoying his family and friends during a backyard or family cook out.
Due to COVID-19 concerns, there will be no funeral services. The Funeral Mass will be private. A Celebration of Life will be held in the summer of 2021 during a more traditional time for the Pagano family and friends to gather.

Mackie not only served during the Vietnam war but he served in Vietnam. We had some great times in West Point and he will be greatly missed. So sorry for your loss.

I was deeply saddened to hear that Mac had passed. I caught Mac in the Little League Baseball Tournament when we were 12 years old. It always brought a proud smile to my face when in later years, and Mac having reached the highest achievements in the sport, whenever he saw me ,Mac referred to me as his catcher. It was only Dec.28,2020 , while watching my great nephew participate in the "Perfect Game Showcases"(baseball) at Jet Blue Park in Ft. Myers Florida that was telling my family I knew of an up and coming Pitcher for the Red Sox named Mario "Mack" Pagano. My nephew was thrilled to know that I personally knew a "RED SOX" player. I met Mack while working at California Artificial Flower Company. (CALART). He worked in the packing department and I worked in the showroom as a floral designer. Mack was a great guy . as one would say "Mr. Personality". As a friend of many years gone by, to the entire Pagano please accept my deepest sympathy.
