Marion J. Lantagne Loving Mother and Grandmother; 84 Lowell Marion Joan (Aubrey) Lantagne, 84, the beloved wife of the late Gerald L. Lantagne, passed away peacefully on Friday, November 28, 2008, with her family at her side. Marion was born in Lowell on July 31, 1924, a daughter of the late Albert and Kathleen (Linsky) Aubrey. She attended Lowell schools and was a graduate of St. Peter's School and Lowell High School. Marion went on to study at Tewksbury State Hospital School of Nursing. Marion married Gerald Leon Lantagne on June 24, 1945 at the Sacred Heart Parish. Together they celebrated 59 years of marriage. Mrs. Lantagne remained at home to raise her family when her seven children were growing up. Later in life, she worked as a Para Professional for the Special Education Department at Lowell High School. Marion was a woman of deep faith. She was a parishioner of the former Sacred Heart Church. A devout Catholic, she was also a member of the Charismatic Prayer Group at St. John the Evangelist Church in N. Chelmsford. She had a deep devotion to St. Theresa of Lisieux, "The Little Flower" and to St. Padre Pio of Pietrelcina. Mrs. Lantagne enjoyed parties and card games with family and friends. These get-togethers usually concluded with music and sing-a-longs. She has a great sense of humor and enjoyed a practical joke now and then. She was also very creative with needle and thread crafts. Marion's family was the most important gift in her life. The respect and love she had for her husband Gerald was like no other and she taught that respect to her children. Mrs. Lantagne is survived by her loving children, Geraldine Wajda and her husband John of Hudson, NH, Margaret Tandus and her husband Edward of Dracut, Gail O'Donnell and her husband Tod of Hudson, NH, Terry Carney and her husband Mark of Moody Beach, ME; two sons, Martin Lantagne and his wife Jean of Merrimack, NH and Stephen Lantagne and his wife Lynne of Wethersfield, CT; 21 grandchildren, ten great grandchildren; her sister, Patricia Schena of Tyngsboro, and many nieces, nephews and cousins. Mrs. Lantagne was the mother of the late Patricia Ann Ricciardi who died in 1978 and sister of the late Evelyn Andrews, Olive Grunke and Kathleen Messer. LANTAGNEIn Lowell, November 28, 2008 at the Northwood Nursing Home. Marion J. (Aubrey) Lantagne, beloved wife of the late Gerald L. Lantagne. At Mrs. Lantagne's request, there will be no calling hours. Family and friends are invited to attend her Memorial Funeral Mass on FRIDAY MORNING at 10 o'clock at ST. MICHAEL'S CHURCH, Bridge & Sixth Streets, Lowell. Burial will follow in St. Patrick Cemetery. As an expression of sympathy, donations in Marion's memory may be made to Radius Northwood Patient's Activity Fund, 1010 Varnum Ave, Lowell, MA 01854. Mrs. Lantagne's family would like to express their deepest gratitude to the Northwood Nursing Home staff for the exceptional care shown to their Mother.
