Marion Scibior Obituary

Published by Legacy Remembers from Feb. 4 to Feb. 5, 2019.
Marion E. Scibior 1934 - 2019
YORKVILLE - Marion E. Scibior, 84, a longtime area resident passed away on Sunday, January 27, 2019 in the comfort of her home.
She was born in Palmerton, PA, on March 15, 1934, the daughter of Earl and Marion Strohl. On August 17, 1957, she was united in marriage to Henry Scibior, a blessed union of almost fifty-five years until his passing on June 6, 2012. She was employed for many years with the General Electric Co. until her retirement.
Marion, a member of the United Polka League, was a great supporter of polka events and could always be seen dancing and enjoying polka music. She was very well known to the polka community. Marion was always willing to lend a hand to the UPL by donating her time, whether it be asking for donations for basket raffles or assisting in other ways when requested. Marion's motto was to take care of youself, love people and love yourself. She also strongly believed in assisting someone who needed help; she felt that these are words of wisdom that we should all live by.
Her survivors include her three children, Jack and his wife, Susan Scibior, of Marcy, Elaine Valmas and her husband, Zenith, of Burlington Flatts and Robert and his wife, Deborah Scibior, of Whitesboro; eight grandchildren, Rebecca Yoxall, Cynthia St. James, Anna Mann, Joshua Valmas, Irene Valmas and Nicholas Spinella, Michelle Hill and John Scibior; and her great-grandchildren, Margaret, Abigail, Jack, David, Helena, Ilsa, Mason, Logan and Harper and her companion, Frank Burbely, of Rome. Also surviving are her brothers, Richard Strohl and Donald Strohl; and her sisters, Delores Eckhart, Geraldine Kuehner, Mary Deiter and Frieda Galley, all of PA; as well as several nieces and nephews. She was predeceased by her brother, Edgar Strohl; and two sisters, Virginia George and Verletta George.
Relatives and friends are invited to attend her Memorial Mass of Christian Burial which will be celebrated on Wednesday, February 6, 2019 at 10:30 a.m. at the Church of the Sacred Heart and St. Mary Our Lady of Czestochowa, New York Mills. There will be no calling hours, however the family will greet guests after the Mass. Burial will take place in Sts. Stanislaus and Casimir Cemetery at the convenience of the family.
Arrangements are under the care of the Kowalczyk Funeral Home, 284 Main St., New York Mills.

Aunt Marion is thought of often and missed. I always think of her in May as her birthday was 2 days before mine. She will never be forgotten!
Her picture is wonderful and her smile. The way I remember her.

Psalm 90:10 says that the days of our years are 70 years, And if because of special mightiness they are 80 years.
May the memories of the wonderful times you shared together bring a smile and joy in your heart.

Marion was a lovely lady. I had the pleasure to meet her at Fr. David's January 9th, 2019 for a dinner party of 6. She was so kind, helpful and made a delicious fruit salad. May her soul and all the souls of the faithfully departed rest in peace. Amen. "Nurse Susan" Susan M. Januszewski, RN

I was shocked and sad to learn of my sister getting her angel wings.

Glad we spoke just a few days prior as Marion was offering prayers and thoughts of her own to my family.

Love to all
