Mark Wesley "Rooster" Eanes, 62, of Bassett, VA, passed away on Thursday, April 20, 2023, peacefully in his sleep to join his two sons, Hank W. Eanes and Henry D. Eanes who preceded him in death.
He was born on August 23, 1960, to Douglas M. Eanes and Margie Bouldin Wilson. In addition to his two sons, he was preceded in death by his stepmother, Phala W. Eanes.
He was the owner of M.W. Eanes Trucking.
Mark is survived by his wife, Darlene P. Eanes; daughter, Heather R. Layman; three sons, Alan Cassell, Scottie Cassell, James Minter; a brother, Marshall Eanes(Teresa); stepfather, James Wilson; seven grandchildren; nine great-grandchildren; and a host of other family and friends.
He was loved by many and will be deeply missed.
A Memorial service will be held on Saturday, April 29, 2023, at 3:00 PM at Bassett Funeral Service Chapel with Pastor Dave Cuthberson and Derek Layman officiating. The family will receive friends one hour prior to the service.

Darlene I am so sorry for your loss. My thoughts and prayers are with you in this time. God is with you and He will see you through this sad time in your life. I will always have the memory when i came to see the puppy you came and got from me. That puppy loved Mark and i am so glad he went to a loving home. Im glad he had so much farm to run in and his buddy Mark. That was something i will always remember. Prayers going up
