PIQUA — Marsha Ann (Whiteford) Murphy, of Piqua, has passed away at the age of 70. Marsha was born Jan. 31, 1948, in Piqua, Ohio, to the late Alyce (French) Whiteford and Robert Whiteford.
She is survived by her husband, Jeff Murphy, her high school sweetheart whom she married in 1969. She is also survived by her sons, David Murphy of Piqua and Brian (Angel) Murphy of Woodridge, Illinois; grandchildren, Devlin, Cady, Colden, and Meyah Murphy; sisters, Lynda Whiteford and Joyce (Ron) Walls; and brother, James (Marcia) Whiteford.
Marsha was a 1966 graduate of Piqua Central High School and a 1969 graduate of the Jewish Hospital School of Nursing in Cincinnati. Marsha was a cardiac nurse and was among the first nurses at Piqua Memorial Hospital to earn the CCRN certification for critical care nurses.
When her sons were young, Marsha was actively involved as a Cub Scout Den Leader, Room Mother, Team Mom, and in countless other ways. Marsha was a member of the Valley Church for many years where she was an active volunteer and member of the Ladies Bible Study group. She was one of the first volunteers for the Piqua Compassion Network. She loved to travel, especially to the ocean. She was an avid reader and enjoyed making crafts.
A Celebration of Life service will be held Saturday, July 21, at 10 a.m. at The Valley Church, Piqua, with the Pastor Andy Monnin officiating.
Marsha donated her body to Boonshoft School of Medicine.

We are so blessed to have met Jeff and Marsha in our facebook group and then face to face at Christmas Mountain Village in The Dells, WI. Marsha was such a sweet friend and such a wonderful part of Ladies Bible Study. Through all her illness, she continued to stay positive and leaned on her faith. I'm going to miss her so much. I'm so thankful God gave her a wonderful husband that cared for her through thick and thin. Praying for you Jeff!!
