BELLAMY, MARVIN J. "MARV"Was born to William Jennings and Nellie Bellamy on October 22, 1940 in Rocky Mount, N.C. and entered eternal rest on July 18, 2005 in Dallas. Mr. Bellamy was a U.S. Air Force veteran and he and his unit were recognized by President Kennedy for their photo reconnaissance work during the Cuban Missile Crisis. He also received individual recognition by Secretary of Defense, Robert McNamara, for his duties in photo reconnaissance during the Vietnam Conflict. Marvin was employed for 38 years at Texas Instruments/Raytheon as an Engineer Manager. He later in life went on and received a Bachelor of Science Degree in Electrical Engineering at S.M.U. in 1980. Mr. Bellamy was preceded in death by his parents; and brother, William Griffin Bellamy. He is survived by his loving wife of 42 years, Jennifer Wiggins Bellamy; daughter, Audrey Katherine "Kathy" Rollins and her husband Lon; granddaughters, Audrey Elise and Caroline Rachelle Rollins; brother Jennings Lee Bellamy, and his wife, Grace; and numerous nieces and nephews. The family will receive friends from 6:30 - 8:30 p.m. Thursday, July 21, 2005 at Restland Funeral Home. Funeral services will be 10:00 a.m. Friday, July 22, 2005 at Restland's Memorial Chapel. Internment to follow at Restland Memorial Park. In lieu of flowers, donations in Marvin's name can be made to the Leukemia Association, 6060 N.
