Mary Davies Davidson

Mary Davidson, a devoted grandmother, stepmother, aunt, sister, and friend, passed away peacefully on August 10th, 2025.

Born in Pittsburgh, Pennsylvania, Mary's lifelong love of language and literature led her to earn both her Bachelor's and Master's degrees in English Literature. After moving to Miami, she shared that passion as a dedicated teacher, inspiring countless students until her retirement.

Mary was married twice in her life-first to the late Glenn Herr, and later to the late Ron Davidson. Through her marriage to Ron, she became a loving stepmother to Doug, Scott, and Kelly Davidson. Her devotion to family shone brightly in her close and loving relationship with her grandchildren, Kyle, Sean, Nancy, Myles, and Tyler as well as her grandchildren Chase, Camden, Caitlyn, and Kane.

Mary was also a deeply treasured aunt, taking a loving role in the lives of her nieces and nephews- Wendie, Jackie, Connie, and Lynn; John, James, Bill, and Danny. Whether sharing laughter over a family meal, or celebrating life's milestones, she brought joy and encouragement to each of them. Her presence in their lives was cherished.

Mary's interests reflected her vibrant spirit-she found joy in tending her garden, exploring new destinations, and savoring a fine glass of scotch in the company of good conversation. Her warmth, humor, and wisdom will be deeply missed by all who knew her.

A private family gathering will be held to honor Mary's life, with a celebration of her memory planned for a later date. In lieu of flowers, the family requests that those wishing to honor her consider raising a glass in her memory and sharing a story that brings a smile.
