Mary Flynn

Mary B. Flynn, 91, of Chicago, Il. passed away Friday, August 12, 2016 at the McGuire Skilled Nursing Facility in Hillsdale Mi.. She was born January 30, 1925 in Zanesville, Ohio to Herbert and Louise (Ludlum) Baker. She married Fahey Flynn in 1949 and he preceded her in death in 1983. Mary was a graduate of Zanesville High School, Class of 1943. She went on to attend The College of William and Mary where she graduated in 1947. Mary illustrated children's books for Rand McNally in Chicago. She was a member of the University of Chicago Cancer Research Foundation Women's Board for over 40 years, Service Cub of Chicago and the Gastrointestinal Research Foundation of Chicago. Survivors include two children, Jamie (Theresa) Flynn of Hillsdale, Mi. and Kathy (Brian) Omara of Lombard, Illinois; grandchildren Tyler Flynn(Dana), Brian Stuchell, Jennifer Janis (Adam), Sean Omara, and great-granddaughters Zoe Brenna Flynn and Ophelia Fahey Flynn Mary was preceded in death by her husband, Fahey and grandson Tanner Flynn. At Mary's request, cremation has taken place. A private family burial will take place at Panteon de Nuestra Senora de Guadalupe Cemetery in San Miguel de Allende, Mexico at a later date. Arrangements are entrusted to the VanHorn-Eagle Funeral Home in Hillsdale.
