Mary Jane Harding

Knoxville - Mary Jane Harding, age 68, of Knoxville TN, passed away peacefully at home to be with our Lord on Easter Day April 4th 2021. Survived by husband Gary Harding; her children Jeremiah Harding and Robert Harding. Grandson Quentin Harding. Sister Sheri Sappington. Cousin Russell Robins. Preceded in death by father Frank Swackhamer, Mother Myrtle Swackhamer and brother William Swackhamer. Mary Studied Communication Arts at Miami Dade College and studied music at University of Miami. Mary was a violinist for Miami Dade and preformed in many locations around the world. She also participated at Summer Stock Theater in North Carolina. Because she loved bird watching she was the first person in Knoxville TN to positively identify a Peregrine Falcon for the first time in Downtown Knoxville. Mary loved to go hunting, fishing and camping with her family. She also loved to ride Harley Davidsons. Mary was an adamant animal lover and loved taking long unknown trips to anywhere. She was known to be a great cook but most of all her key lime pies which were loved by many people in many other states. Mary was a loyal supporter for Shriners Hospital. She would really appreciate any donations made in her name to them. She will be deeply missed. This earth will never be the same without her.

To my sweet little sister. I will miss you for the rest of my life. I think my heart is broken. You and brother Bill take care of each other until it's my turn to be in the house of the Lord. We will all miss you very much. Love you always. Your big sister.

Mary was my dear sister-in-law and a loving wife, mother & grandmother. I will always remember her love for birds & especially hummingbirds. For many years she struggled with her health but was a real trooper through it all. She was a strong believer in Christ and now she is at rest with Him. You will be dearly missed.
“ I will watch over the hummingbirds for you”. ❤ Sis

She was like a 2nd mother to me. Some of my best memories are of going with my mom up to their place and fishing. I hope her and mom are reunited. I will forever miss you!
