Mary Helen Heck

Heck, Mary Helen Cochrane, AB It is with great sadness that the family announces the passing of Mary Helen Heck (Petrowski), formerly of Regina, late of Cochrane, AB. on October 8, 2009 at the age of 84. Mary was born in Poland on May 11, 1925 and immigrated to Canada as a young child. She is predeceased by her parents (Stanley and Bernice Petrowski), sister (Jean), her husband (John) and son (RCMP Cpl. Garry Heck). She is survived by her sons Cpl. (Retd) Don Heck (Carol), Ron Heck (Darle) and Cpl. Greg Heck (Donna) and daughters Janet, Judy and Mary Lou Heck, 10 grandchildren, 5 great grandchildren and several nieces and nephews. Mary went to Teachers College in Regina and taught school in Penzance, where she met and married John Heck. They farmed for many years in Holdfast and district and Mary taught Kindergarten in Holdfast for several years before moving to Regina. Mary was very proud of her children, grandchildren and great grandchildren and loved teaching. At Mary's request there will be no funeral, but rather a private family interment service at Regina Memorial Gardens at a later date.
