Mary Kathleen O'Donnell
September 20, 1947 - December 22, 2014
Mary Kathleen O'Donnell, 67, passed away at her home the morning of Dec. 22, 2014, following a brief illness. She passed peacefully, surrounded by her children.
Mary was born Sept. 20, 1947 in Council, Idaho, to parents Ned Wright Jacobsen and Ana Anniziata Rose Jacobsen. Soon after, Mary's family moved to Boise where she grew up, the eldest of five sisters. After graduating from Bishop Kelly High School in 1965, Mary moved to Portland, Oregon where she met her first husband and father of her children, William Marrs. William and Mary lived the military life; first in Germany, then returning to Boise, Idaho, to raise their three children, Charlie, Shelby, and Sarah. Many years later she married Larry O'Donnell and moved to Calder and Avery, Idaho. Following her union to Larry, she spent happy times on Vashon Island, Washington. Mary spent the last great years of her life in Boise, Idaho where she lovingly cared for her parents during the twilight of their lives and spent time building cherished memories with her children and grandchildren. Mary worked as a lunch lady at various schools around Boise, retiring from Louis and Clark Jr. High School, where she made many good friends.
Mary was a free spirit and loved to travel more than anything else in life. She loved vacationing in Mexico, taking trips to the coast to meet her sisters and cousins for the annual "wine walk", and camping in the mountains of Idaho with her family. She was very close to her sisters and always made time to lend a helping hand or a shoulder to cry on. She was a best friend to many and a loving mother and grandmother.
Mary is survived by her three children Charles (Charlie) Jacobsen Marrs, Shelby Kae Christensen, and Sarah Ann Hensley; grandchildren Devin, Kerstin, Charmaine, Brendan, Andrew, and Lucille (Lucy); and sisters Nedda, Delilah (Didi), Ruthie, and Carla (Corky).
At Mary's request, no funeral services will be held. A life celebration will be held in her honor in McCall, Idaho, later this summer.

Mary was so easy going which made her so fun to work with at CHS. She helped with jewelry stuff too. I will never forget her, God bless and keep her and the family.
