I can barely write this because the loss I feel is so great. Matt had such a gift for spreading joy and creating laughter. I never had a conversation with him where I didn't get off the phone smiling and feeling warm-hearted. I loved his sense of humor, his kind spirit, and his huge heart. I miss him so very much.

We loved Matt dearly and we'll miss him so very much. He brought us so much pleasure. His bright, sunny disposition was infectuous and he brought cheer to all who came in contact with him.

Although I did not know Matt very well, i know that he was a great friend to many. He will be remembered forever in the hearts of all those that loved him. I pray everyday for Matt, the Hofmaier-Heim family, and for all of Matt's friends. God bless you during these hard times.

I found out through my mother, a member of the River Forest Tennis Club, about your tragic loss. I spent a couple of summers with Matt working at the tennis club and I'll always remember him to be quick with a smile and a laugh. He was a great guy to work with and I have fond memories of him and I goofing off and trading jokes with each other. My thoughts and prayers are with you.
