MATTHEW JAY PAULEY, 41 GALVESTON, Ind. - Matthew Jay Pauley, 41, of Galveston, formerly of Belvidere, Ill., died Wednesday, Oct. 17, 2012, in St. Joseph Hospital, Kokomo, after a sudden illness. Born Nov. 22, 1970, in Belvidere, son of Ralph Pauley and Judy (Brown) Pauley. Served in the U.S. Navy aboard the USS Eisenhower during Desert Storm. Worked for Chrysler for 15 years before starting his own construction business. Member of the UAW and the American Legion. Above all he enjoyed spending time with his daughter. Survivors include daughter, Hayley Renee Pauley of Galveston; fiancée, Angie Ebert of Galveston; father, Ralph (Janette) Pauley of Hudson, Fla.; brother, David Pauley of Rockford, Ill.; stepdaughters, Ashley and Kaitlyn Ebert; stepbrothers, Jason and Logan Swart of Wisconsin; and nephews, Nick and Lucas Pauley. Predeceased by mother, Judy D. Pauley. Visitation from 10 a.m. to noon, Monday, Oct. 22, in Buck-Wheeler-Hyland Funeral Home, 218 W. Hurlbut Ave., Belvidere, with a graveside service to immediately follow in Belvidere Cemetery. Cremation rites have been accorded. I know how it is to lose a son, my thoughts and prayers are with the family. I live in the Reno, Tahoe area now and will not be able to attend in person, but knew Ralph for many years.
