Maxine Landes Chapman, age 93, of Wooster, Ohio, went home to be with the Lord, Sunday, Nov. 25, 2018 at Bluebird Retirement Community in London, Ohio following a short illness.
She was born on Feb. 10, 1925 in Madisonburg, Ohio to Ralph E. and Mabel (Johnson) Landes. She previously resided in the Findlay and London, Ohio area's before moving back to Wooster in 1989.
Maxine married Harold C. Chapman on May 20, 1944 in Augusta, Ga. He went home to be with the Lord in 2002.
She was a devoted homemaker who was a member of St. John's Lutheran Church in London, Ohio and the Wayne County Historical Society.
She is survived by her children, James N. (Lois) Chapman of Seville, Ohio, Craig L. (Debra) Chapman of London, Ohio, Bryan H. (Kathy) Chapman of Jeffersonville, Ohio and LuAnn (Chris) Wallis of London, Ohio; several grandchildren and great-grandchildren; a brother, Earl J. Landes of Wooster.
Her parents and husband precedes her in death.
Graveside services were Wednesday, 12 p.m. at Wooster Cemetery with Rev. Ann Paynter officiating.
There was no public visitation.
Custer-Glenn Funeral Home in Wooster is honored with serving the family.
Memorial contributions may be made in lieu of flowers to either: DAV - (Disabled American Veterans), P.O. Box 14301, Cincinnati, OH 45250-0301 or The Salvation Army of Wooster, 437 South Market St., Wooster, Ohio 44691.
The family wishes to thank the staff of Bluebird Retirement Community along with her 2 favorite nurses, Brittny and Bridget for their care and concern during her stay.
