Melissa Brackin

Melissa Marie Brackin, age 38, died Saturday, April 28, 2012, at her residence in Caledonia. The memorial services will be held Thursday, May 3, 2012, at 10:00 AM at Border Springs Baptist Church with Rev. David Westmoreland officiating. A visitation will immediately follow the service at the church. Melissa was born on Sunday, May 20, 1973, in Aberdeen to the late Roy Bradley and Dorothy Marie Andresen Petty. Melissa was married to Tim for 18 years, after a two year courtship. She rose every morning to make sure her husband had a good breakfast to start his day. She came from a large family and married into a large family. She was always surrounded by family. Melissa went to Caledonia High School. She was an office manager of H&R Block in Columbus. She was a domestic engineer; she was trained in phlebotomy, and an avid reader. Now Melissa is finally at rest. We hold her close to us. Please hold her close as we do in your mind and spirit. Survivors include her husband, Tim Brackin Caledonia MS; daughter, Mysty Brackin, Caledonia, MS; son, Joseph Bradley Brackin, Caledonia, MS; sisters: Loretta Jean Brewer, Starkville, MS, Sue Ann Basham (John), Hamilton, MS, Marie Petty, Oklahoma City, OK and Deborah McKenzie (John), Flippin, AR; brothers, Charles Martin Petty, Columbus, MS, Brad Petty (Cindy), Columbus, MS and Joseph Christian Petty, Jacksonville, FL.
