My heartfelt condolences are offered to the family, many, many friends, colleagues and devoted army fans of the Melvin Barcliff, Magoo. Magoo was a rapper who collaborated with celebrated rapper and producer Timothy "Timbaland" Mosley as the duo Timbaland & Magoo. He was greatly admired by many fellow artists and all those who knew him. May the love and many, many special memories you shared with your devoted loved one show how much your life was touched by him. May the God of comfort bless your grieving hearts with strength, loving kindness and peace as the world copes with the loss of Magoo. May his music and legacy keep his memory alive forever.

Melvin was one of my best friends. When I learned he passed it was a kick in the stomach.
He was kind, even to those who didn't deserve it. He would always talk about how if he had to do it over again, he'd be a regular guy. He stated, "Fame is the promise that can't be kept." He often wondered why he was "chosen" to experience success as a rap artist, when others were denied the opportunity to be heard by the world. I'd tell him, "Favor isn't fair." It's not the "why" it's the "why not?" I miss how we might not chat for months at a time, but when we did get on the phone, it would become a 2–3-hour conversation. If it wasn't a phone call, he'd type text messages that were long enough to be a novel...haha. The last time we chatted was on his birthday. I sent him a Happy Birthday text, and he just replied with a "thumbs up." Had I known that would be the last time we talked, I would have talked him into coming by the house. He loved my grilled wings. He hated the fame and was very private. He was always ready to help those who needed it the most, Far too many times, the people he helped wouldn't even say "Thank you" or acknowledge his kindness. Rest easy little brother. May you find the peace in death, that seemed to evade you in life.

My condolences to the family of Magoo! I had never heard of Timbaland & Magoo until one day I'm in my way home and my daughter who was 3 at the time turned the radio up and started dancing and singing the lyrics! You will be forever missed but you will live on thru your music & memories!
