Melvin Loughery Obituary

Published by Legacy Remembers on Jul. 6, 2023.
Dennis Loughery, 78, of Belleville, IL, passed away on June 28, 2023. He was born on August 3, 1944. Dennis is survived by his sister Donna Loughery-Williams (Belleville, IL), his brother, Edward Loughery and his wife Sandra (Verona, PA), his children: Glen Loughery (Oakdale, Illinois), Florence Loughery-Terry and her husband Paul (O'Fallon, IL), Carl Loughery and his wife Sarah (Springfield, MO), Stephanie Loughery-Neuf and her husband Shawn (Fairview Heights, IL), Katie Loughery-Knipp and her husband Jacob (Mascoutah, IL), many nieces and nephews, as well as multiple grandchildren and great-grandchildren. He was preceded in death by his Mother, Florence Schneider-Duffey, his Father, Melvin Loughery, his son, Vincent Loughery, his nephew Aaron Williams, and his brother-in-law David Williams.

Dennis enlisted in the Navy in 1962, with a willingness and desire to serve his country.

Throughout his career, Dennis worked for several years as a mechanic at multiple companies.

Dennis loved his dog, Toto, and had a knack for tinkering with computers. He also enjoyed watching True Crime TV shows in his free time.

A small family Celebration of Life will be planned for late summer/early fall to honor Dennis's memory.

In lieu of flowers, the family kindly requests contributions to be made to the animal rescue of your choice, as he was very fond of dogs.

We extend our deepest sympathies to the Loughery family during this difficult time. May Dennis's memory be a source of comfort and strength for you all.
