Merle J. Kline

Merle J. Kline, 90, of Cape Coral passed away May 21, 2016. He was born in Cumberland, Maryland and the son of Wesley and Violet Kline. His wife Maxine Smith Kline, two brothers Lloyd and Bill Kline of Cumberland and sister Mary Jo Price of Louisville, KY, predeceased him. Survivors include longtime companion Pebble Brownley, daughter Vicki Slota Earlenbaugh (Gary), son Jeff Kline (Becky), grandchildren Jason, Michael and Andrew Slota, Adam Kline, Stephanie Kline Green (Mike) and great grandson Parker Green.
He served in World War II at the age of 17. He retired from Goodyear Aerospace and was a longtime resident of Akron, Ohio. He spent the last 20 years of his life residing in Cape Coral, FL. He was an active member of Trinity Lutheran Church, life member of VFW post 8463 and a member of Cape Coral Moose chapter 2199 and Cape Coral Elks.
Family and friends will dearly miss him. His request was to be cremated with a private service to be held in Uniontown, Ohio at a later date.

We are forever grateful to of had such a wonderful neighbor! The few short years we lived next to one another in Cape Coral, truly left some wonderful memories that we will always cherish. We are so thankful for our recent visit to Cape Coral so you could meet our entire family. Thank you for your service to our country. You will always be remembered...We love and miss you Grandpa Merle
