Michael DUNN Obituary
DUNN, Michael Joseph July 18, 1943 - April 4, 2010 It is with great sadness that we announce the passing of Michael Joseph Dunn on Sunday, April 4th, 2010. Beloved father and best friend to Ryan and Deena, Aaron and Gabriela, Candice and Robbie, Nolan and Alicia and his Special J. He also leaves behind four grandchildren whom he adored, Sophie, Griffin, Chloe and Hudson. Mike is also survived by his siblings, Stan (JoAnne), John (Lorraine) and Gail along with many cousins, nieces and nephews. Mike was born and raised in Windsor, Ontario and moved to Vancouver in the late 60s and finally settled in Victoria in 1989. He was a loyal employee of Seaspan International for 32 years first as a deckhand and then later as a cook. By those that knew him Mike will be remembered for being outgoing, generous, compassionate and as a man not afraid to speak his mind or show his unorthodox sense of humor. A Celebration of Life to be held for family and friends, Saturday, April 10th in Brentwood Bay, BC. Thank you for being our confidant, best friend and the coolest Dad ever!

We always looked forward to Uncle Mike's visits. He made the best pizza. He was always so full of life and so much fun to be around. My heart goes out to my cousins at the loss of their father and to my dad at the loss of his brother and friend. You'll be missed Uncle Mike. Love Lisa, Eric, Noah Madelyn & Lucas

God needed Mike in Heaven!
He was either in great need of a wonderful new cook, a funny friend, a "right hand man" he knows he can always depend on, an entertainer and loving grandfather for all the little children....or an angel companion for Kathleen.
He has a mission for Mike and a comfortable new home for him in Heaven.
He is happy a usual.
God will give you all the strength to get through this. Just make sure to listen when he speaks to you through your fathers spirit which is always there with all of us.
Each time we laugh lets think of Mike...I can hear him now.

Our thoughts and prayers are with Uncle Mike's children and their families at this sad time. His brother Leonard passed away in Feb 1998, and my children and I have fun memories of our father, grandfather and great grandfather. The memories of your life with your Dad will bring you comfort, warm your heart, heal the hurt and he will never be far away.

ADD as I first knew him or Mike will be sadly missed. I will always remember how he treated me like a grown man, even if I wasn't there quite yet, respecting what I had to say, and eager to engage in lively debate if we sat on opposite sides of an idea. He had quick wit and an easy laugh, which we had many of in our times together. Our thoughts are with you all,

Uncle Mike will be missed, we are saddened that there won't be any more visits to Windsor. We always had a great time when he was here.Iknow how much he was so proud and loved his children and grandchildren. Our prayers are with all of you.
